For the woman with a camel coat, this scarf is perfect! There are neutrals of camel, black and bone, plus accent colors of brighter gold and red – plenty of options for wearing this frequently throughout the winter.

And I felt that both the feather earrings and the scroll-ish ones in gold were great complements to the scarf. The little touches can make a big difference!

While this scarf is intensely colored, I saw the potential for multiple shades of muted orange, from terra cotta to the softest blush. A dash of amethyst earrings to pick up the purple in the scarf is fun, or you could pile on the brilliant color depth with the copper red earrings. (the red earrings sold out overnight… sigh…)

This is the bold statement! Orange and red are both other possibilities with this scarf, but I thought the strong acid green was a “out of the ordinary” option. The arrowhead earrings have the detailing that echoes the scarf, and the stud earrings are strongly individualistic, which is perfect for the woman who loves this kind of color.

Ahhh, here’s my comfort zone! Quiet neutrals are where I live… But there’s nothing boring about this – smoky topaz or smoky quartz earrings can be so beautiful. Have you ever considered wearing earrings that match your eyes?

It’s useful to put a lot of thought into the purchase of anything that’s going to be around for more than a few months. Most scarves will last the rest of your life, with reasonable care, and so it makes sense to buy the best one you can afford, and make the choice with great care. These scarves are so beautiful that you will get as much joy from wearing it in ten years as you will next week, and THAT’S a good value.

I saw some lovely Etro scarves at Holt Renfrew in Vancouver. The weaves and patterns are gorgeous…can one own too many scarves?
I totally agree with your advice on how to choose. I have only one Etro scarf; it is my favorite, and it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. (It's hard to resist the temptation to wear it every day!)

Paisley is the one print that I have adored for as long as I can remember.
While I appreciate the quality of Hermes scarves, my heart belongs to Etro. I think it has a more bohemian rhythm that appeals to me along with their leaning towards earthy colours. Ebay is a great source for Etro scarves. This series is very helpful because you are analyze the colours and designs in the scarves and point the way to accompanying garments and accessories that harmonize with the scarf.

Etro also makes shawls! Forget that they cost a month's rent and just daydream. I'm lucky enough to own an Etro shawl…sad,y, it's in the lavenders (my least favorite color), but it's just gorgeous and it was a gift from my late grandmother. The Shawls are utterly yummy and actually warm, too.

This post is right for me.It was very very helpfull.Thank you!I love neutrals too,however other combinations are wonderful as well.I would also like to suggest to add hats/caps in some of future posts when winter coats or puffa jackets are included.It is very difficult for me to choose a cap or a hat,to pick the colours,to decide it must fit to scarf or gloves…

Your vignette for the black, gold and bone scarf with the feather earrings felt a little Hunger Games to me, though obviously, not in an over the top way!
I found (last year) a perfect Etro wool scarf in a consignment shop. It is paisley–in black, gray and ecru. I snapped it up for $20. It is in perfect condition. I may wear it today!

I had never heard of Etro until I found one of their silk scarves at a thrift shop for 99 cents! �� They obviously didn't know what they had. Now I am obsessed with them. Too bad everything costs a paycheck…..
