How I wear a scarf

After I slipped off my scarf last night, I threw it down on the bed and photographed it.  This is the way I wear a scarf about 90% of the time...

Very simple:

bias fold tie a knot about 8 inches up from one of the ends of the scarf.  You can move the knot up or down depending on how you'd like to wear the scarf pull the loose end of the scarf through the knot look at the scarf and decide which side looks better to the front slip over your head, and go

Just toss it on and wear it.  This isn't rocket science, nor origami - it's just a lovely piece of silk you're using as a surrogate piece of jewelry.  Don't over-analyze the tying process. ... View the Post

Wearing a scarf in warm weather

It's a necklace made of silk!  I've always felt that scarves were essentially silk jewelry, and this really proves the theory.   How to?   1.  Bias fold the scarf.  

2.   tie a knot in the middle of the scarf   3.   tie two more knots, equally spaced on either side of the middle knot   4.   if you want the "necklace" to be shorter, tie a couple more knots on either side of the middle knot.  Please note that the knots do NOT have to be perfectly matched, nor perfectly spaced.   5.   the the ends of the scarf in a tiny knot.  Voila - necklace!   Yes, this still touches your neck, in the back, a little bit.  Worst case ...   This scarf beautifully illustrates the flags of the 17 participating countries of the Marshall plan, and architectural details from the State Apartment of the Hotel de Talleyrand.  The border of the scarf features a quote from General Marshall regarding the necessity of the Marshall Plan.  The Hotel de Talleyrand served as headquarters of the Marshall Plan from 1948 - 51.
