Two days out – two blazers with brooches! End of the week was quiet, as I’m wrestling with something – maybe flu? In April?
I’m going to try to assemble all of the clothing that I’ve worn since I finished the “1 Dress, 100 Days” challenge last autumn; it will be fascinating to see what got worn a ton (like my blazer from 4, or my three shirts from them?) and what never got out of my closet…
love,
Janice

This is my favourite colour scheme and I have most of the items (apart from the blazer and earrings!) Am trying to pack for two weeks in Eastern Canada and I think this would work with the addition of navy trousers and top plus a bit of teal, maybe a blue wool dress?! I’m going to see how that looks! 🤞
Janice says
Those additions would be perfect – I have a teal wool tee shirt that I toss into this mix from time to time… And if it’s within your budget and preferences, I can strongly recommend the blazer; I wasn’t sure at all when I ordered it, but I have SO MUCH trust in the 4 Objects group that I ordered it anyway. Smartest move I’ve made – wardrobe wise – in ages…

Janice

I really love these Sunday check ins. Partly because it all to clearly shows you practice what you preach regarding capsule wardrobes, getting the most bang for the buck out of your clothing, and that you really can wear pieces over and over again changing up accessories to make them feel different. Hope that all make sense. Thanks so much Janice – looking forward to the six paintings 12 months wardrobes tomorrow! PS – My husband just got over a terrible cough, one son just getting over flu (?) and the other son possibly coming down with something? yep – you are not alone!

Yay for the six paintings post tomorrow! I have lost track of the days.

Friday. No post tomorrow because I either have flu or a banging bad fibromyalgia session, and so I’m FAR behind the normal process. Please forgive me!

Janice

I feel so bad – the paintings post won’t be here ’til Friday! I’m going to miss out tomorrow completely because I just can’t sit at my desk very long… and I have something special for Wednesday!
hugs,
Janice

This is a beautiful combination!

I’m not sure of the shoe selections.
This group has kept me afloat, especially , when, I’m in the need to stay involved and afloat.
Graciously,
Sandi

I don’t even WEAR shoes 99% of the time – that’s why I’ve always got my Minnetonka Moccasins close at hand – I slip them on like slippers. When I’m dressing up and going out, I’m most likely to pull on my patent loafers; I wore my black flats (Thierry Rabotin Grace) one day last week when I wanted a small silhouette for my feet. That, I can’t explain!

Janice

Hope you feel better soon, Janice.

Janice, whether fibro or flu, feeling bad stinks. Hope you feel better soon. We’ll miss your posts as they are so enjoyable. Today’s was truly interesting as it seems like you are feeling the pull of purple in your wardrobe. Fun fact from a history geek…did you know that while black was the colour of mourning for the Occidental world (white for very young children), purple was donned by royals as ‘the darkening of the royal scarlet’? I think you are not only fond of purple, but have found it to be almost like a third neutral for you. And what you showed us today points to how nicely it works for you. In your accessory post, you mused about adding items to make a purple sweater not an orphan, I would say that based on the WOW post, you should go for adding a few items.

I already have purple highlights in my hair, and they’re surprisingly popular; I’ve NEVER received so many compliments on my hair as I have since I began highlighting it during the pandemic. That’s sort of how I got started on purple, and I don’t see myself stopping!

Hi Janice – hope you’re feeling better! I, too, have purple highlights in my very dark hair, and I love them. I get a lot of compliments, too. Who knew getting old could be so much fun! Except for the aches and pains, of course.

I finally received the 4 Objects Rabbit jacket and I adore it! I’m wearing it as often as I can before it’s too warm! It and the white linen/cotton shirt are my favorites. I also have the sweatshirt (cozy but the arms are super long on me) and the black wool/cotton shirt (for some reason I don’t love it as much as the white).
I hope you feel better soon!
