Ah, the timeless beauty of pink and navy!
I think these colors are timeless and flattering to most of us too!
The Big Challenge
She never knows if it will be nice and toasty warm or damp and nippy…
So she brings her swimsuits, as well as long underwear for sleeping! Best be ready for a range of temperatures…
And for non-aquatic activities, she packs this:
One really doesn’t need to pack a ton of things for a weekend; you need to get dressed on Saturday and Sunday, and maybe Monday if you’re really stretching your time off!
The cardigan and long pants make almost everything else in her wardrobe useful, even on cold days! Warm socks are never wrong, too!
So she has choices, warm or cool:
It’s a comfort to know that you can get away for a few days without taking a steamer trunk of clothes with you – even if the weather is unreliable!
love,
Janice

I absolutely love this 🥰😍 It is my go-to holiday wardrobe. The teal blue is a lighter shade for me – ocean blue/smokey blue/slate blue. I have built up a 12 month wardrobe in these colours using the WTW formula. Now it is so easy to pack knowing that everything will go together.
I tend to go for more pattern or textures to give interest in my top half whilst keeping the bottoms plain. In high summer, the pink becomes more of a coral pink.
Btw I can’t find the specific bag on the Coach website. The link takes you too the bags section. Also the lovely Allegra K navy and pink floral scarf has sold out in that colourway. ☹

Hmm.. the link seems to be working now from my computer – it’s the Cary Shoulder bag in Bubblegum. I’m not a “pink” person but I agree it’s lovely!

Thank you for all the great put together pieces . It’s hard to shop and find in stock merchandise at brick and mortar stores today , you make it easy to order outfits on line for us 😀

Gosh this is pretty. Almost makes me wish I wore pink! Beautiful ending to the week – Beth T, glad to see you back! Unless I just missed your comments on previous posts this week. Happy Friday.

Thanks Sheila. I have been around and reading all the posts. I have been playing catch-up and posting late this week. We’ve been away celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary! We stayed in a castle that was lit up at night and we could explore the grounds after it closed to the public. Magical! I wore an outfit in these colours on our first day then my favourite colour purple. I’m sure that there is a ‘pink’ for everyone. 🤗

Oops just realised that I posted my reply under my real name rather than my moniker.

Love this! Now that my hair is white, black is too harsh. Enter navy! I love the combo with lighter blue and pink. My goal is to build a wardrobe with these colors as well as burgundy, red and kelly green as pops of color. My reality is still a lot of black and grey. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific color in stores at the moment you want it.

Navy is my dark neutral and today’s wardrobe has reminded me of how much I love it with soft pink. I’ll have to remember that when I shop.
I was admiring the floral blouse/tunic and then realized it has a 3/4 sleeve. My forearms freeze if they’re not covered (day and night) except on the hottest of days. This has been the case since I was in my twenties! I struggle to find long-sleeved blouses and dresses and, oftentimes, second layers too. So, I’ve sometimes settled for a colour option I wouldn’t have otherwise chosen when I found a long-sleeved garment. Does anybody else avoid 3/4 sleeves?
Kristi says
I avoid 3/4 sleeves too as I layer with cardigans all through the fall/winter/spring and I don’t like trying to take them off and on with such a funny sleeve length. If I could wear it alone it would work but by the time I don’t need a cardigan in the summer, I don’t want sleeves that long. To be honest I wear short sleeves all year. We heat with wood and sometimes our house is very warm even in the winter so I need to be down to short sleeves so I don’t overheat.

I never got over being the kid who was constantly growing out of clothes, so I refuse to wear 3/4 or bracelet-length sleeves, or cropped or ankle-length pants. Full-length everything!
Vicki from New Zealand says
Looks like my arms are too long for my clothes, if the sleeves don’t reach the wrist.

I was expecting a lighter blue but the dark blue-teal is very pretty with this capsule, especially with the floral shirt in the mix! Of course I’d substitute jeans for the navy twill pants.
It’s funny to see this presented as not a lot for a weekend because it actually does seem like a lot to me. But if she needs to be prepared for a range of weather possibilities, she is certainly in good shape.
On the 3/4 sleeve issue…they are not my favorite but I do buy and wear them. In general, I prefer long-sleeved shirts because they can more easily be layered over. Long-sleeved shirts work for me year round because they are so easy to cuff to one’s desired length (bracelet, 3/4, elbow length) in warmer weather. (That doesn’t work for the very hottest days, but it does for much of the summer here.)

I’m in Ireland and this is so very similar to the capsule colors I selected, because of course these are some of my everyday wardrobe colors and just had to pick the right level of layering and warmth! No shorts but has been incredibly nice for spring from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher!!

Janice,
Just this morning I wore a dark denim blue bottom with a peach, ivory and blue top, with a peach ( my version of pink ) cardigan . Great selections here !

What beautiful colours and the bracelets are a perfect addition.
Vicki from New Zealand says
Love the navy, the bracelets are beautiful, and although I also am not usually a “pink person”, I really like the pink espadrilles.

I love this look. I’ve started to add more pink into my wardrobe tops. Seems to work with my mature coloring :). I have some 3/4 sleeves but they are not a favorites. If it’s too cool for sleeveless or short sleeve, then I prefer long sleeved. They can always be pushed up.
I’m a few days late responding to the “lake” wardrobes. They are fun and lovely to look at but I rarely wear any jewelry when we are there. In fact I remove it when we arrive! Also no fancy sandals or scarves. Never need a purse. Jeans or casual shorts and tees are what I wear most. Knit pull on dresses for dinner and games on the porch. I have old bathing suits and sun shirts for the hot weather during the day. I find sunscreen can ruin/stain so there’s that. I need one or two outfits for the occasional trip to the winery, church or a neighbor’s for drinks but that’s it. So while I would wear all these just not so much at the lake.

I love your posts. Like reading a short story written just for me. Thank you for your creativity and your outfit suggestions.

I love everything about these clothes! It would be so great if we could just click a buy now button, select our sizes and have it all sent. I never have time to go to every single website to buy things.
