I love this one…
Were I to ever find myself in a situation where I was going to wear a lot of beige (it could happen!), these would be my favorite accent colors:
As is true with all 4 of our “beige” heroines, we are starting with 8 garments…
Our heroine was VERY patient in finding her accents; patience is probably the most important quality to bring to any shopping!
But it was worth it – her selections are varied, and lovely!
She takes a close look at her 4 by 4 Wardrobe Template, just to make sure that she didn’t lose her discipline at some stage!
I suspect all of us have some rogues in their closet, eh?
She then arranges all of her clothes in a more natural way to view them – I think this looks deliciously appealing…
Am I going to have to accessorize these wardrobes? I think they all would benefit from some more shoes, jewelry, and scarves to bring balance to the “beige bottom” outfits… What do you think?
Oh yes, she has choices! Imagine leaving these 16 pieces up at the cabin for the summer…. sigh….
I have one more painting, and thus 1 more “beige-centric” wardrobe… And then we may need to accessorize!
love,
Janice
p.s. Not exactly 6 years ago, we looked at some Van Gogh, and some denim and beige…

I love the accent colours you have chosen from this gorgeous painting.
Can’t wait to see the accessories!
Would it be possible for you to show this with a darker neutral for us cool toned ladies please?

Thanks again Janice! So nice to start the day with these wonderful ideas. From this series, this is my favorite so far! Today is the first day it really feels like spring to me. I’ve been feeling cold inside even with the warmer temperatures- like a house that needs more sunlight to actually feel the change of season. But today I dressed as if I had a peak to this post: ivory/Beige pants, pale rose printed 3/4 sleeve top and a grey zipped blazer. Paired with white/grey and pastels sneakers, rose quartz silver earrings, navy/grey scarf & navy backpack. Dress for success!

I love these colors. They would go with any muted neutral. They are my favorite so far. Can’t wait to see the last one. And looking forward to accessories.

Forwarding this post to my mom! She wears a lot of beige and gray, and those accent colors would be perfect for her.

Gosh I just can’t get past the beige. I think if it were chambray or anything else? I think someone else mentioned last week about not wearing the light color on the bottom and the darker color on the top? Not that these colors are particularly dark, but you get the drift. At least I know now not to invest in a beige core for summer! Not for myself anyway. Happy Monday.

If we are lucky, maybe Janice will do this sort of thing with some other neutrals. *fingers crossed*

FINALLY! THESE are the shades and tones of the accent colors that make up my wardrobe – it’s a shame everything was so casual ….

I love these accent items! I think they would look just as lovely with a soft grey or denim core. I wish I could buy them all, especially that eyelet blouse.

Really amazing collection. I am looking for the same and I really love them all. Thanks for sharing.

Janice will you be doing a post using black as a base for spring summer. I have so many black basic pieces. Would like to see options other than black ack and white combos
Thank you

I hike in trainers, so I’d call those an essential accessory! She will also want a high quality rain jacket and a fleece zip up to make this work as a cabin wardrobe…unless the cabin is at a low elevation. (Still needs the rain jacket bc summer rain showers in most parts of the US can be soakers-especially on the Atlantic coast) I can clearly see this for barbecues at the neighbors’ cabins, running errands, dinner or lunch out or resort shopping. Seems as if a lot of women never really get out of athleisure at these vacation areas. Maybe that’s a capsule we can figure out. I sensibly bought a navy golf skirt and then two polos: lemon yellow and coral. The two shirts get plenty of other summer wear with crops in tan and navy. Would anyone else wear the golf skirt elsewhere? I’m 68, so really don’t wear that skirt anywhere but the golf course.

I like this the best of this series so far! Though I do still have some mental block of wearing a beige neutral; I’d likely do a light wash denim instead. Yes to accessorizing, please!

Me too, both of those things: I like this gathering of colours and clothes so very much, but beige really hates me. I could imagine putting those accents with other neutrals, though.

A breath of Spring. Beautiful colors. Thanks always.

Thank you . I will sub in warmer colors for pink and purple and use navy as a dark neutral and probably coral and peach as accent colors.
Sheila says
Similar here – navy as the core and putting in green and orange… have prints of navy and green and navy and orange. That’s a lot of navy though! Also only have one pair of navy pants, so have to decide if I invest in another navy bottom, or bring in a gray? Which wouldn’t be great. Maybe a tan/camel? And yes, the reply button seems to be working as does pinterest today.

These colors are really nice with the beige! I would probably prefer grey and/or chambray personally, but these look terrific.

Oh to be thin and blonde! Wait. I have lost nearly 20# and my hair is a strange kind of calico now as it is going gray. So that’s a kind of blond right? All of these off white/beige/light camel sets are so tempting to me but I think I would end up looking the same color as my clothes.

Oh golly! Janice, I don’t think you need to ask about accessories. Have your loyal readers ever said no to that?! On a serious note, I do like the beige series. Seeing the different accents with a light neutral is very helpful. I may not want a column of beige, but find it a nice option in summer for pants and skirts.

Perfect accents for me. My ‘beige’ would be light grey.

Beautiful colours, although too muted for me. Almost 70 and still wondering when my coloring is going to “soften”. My beige would be mid grey and hey presto there is my Spring Colour Board!
Yes please to accessories.

I’m moving towards a wardrobe of mostly neutrals for the summer it seems. My bottoms are shades of white, stone, and a cool khaki. My tops are mostly white or brown and many are sleeveless, with a little bit of muted turquoise and a bit of brown and black. My jackets are dark olive, deep henna, and a quilted one in a small abstract print of stone, gray, black and cool khaki that works with almost all of it. Shoes, hats, and purses are in a cool brown. My jewelry is mostly silver, some turquoise, and a bit more brown . With my graying hair and very light light barely warm complexion, it’s working very well!

Love this wardrobe, and I’m 70 + thanks Janice. I was once blond, now I’m almost white, and this one still works for me.
Janice I have tried to get your subscription sent to me, to no avail. It used to come in and then it just stopped about a month ago.
