We’ve had as much rain as we have had snow in the last month! Not an “average” February in Chicago!
But if you’ve got a rainy day facing you, a cozy outfit with warm socks for indoors, and with sneakers for later, when the rain stops, is just the thing…

I’d wear that paisley scarf with all my purple and lilac. Very versatile. Today, its dull but dry where I am.

I love wearing what I term “happy colours” on bad weather days and also wearing the colours of Spring in the dee of Winter when you wonder if the snow season will ever end. These outfits all answer that need and, today, the pink outfits’s scarf and comfy shirt are especially cheerful.
This post reminds me that we can love ourselves and the ones we live with by wearing pretty things at home. Thank you, Janice!

Was just listening to the rain rattle in the gutters when I popped this open. Spot on!
Was dressed up for Ash Wednesday Mass but came home and changed into cords, a sweatshirt and Keds. The rain started as I was turning on the computer to check TVF. I’d say perfect timing!
These sweatshirt-based outfits are right in time for the Twin Cities – we are expecting 18″+ of snow (which is a lot for us) starting this afternoon with schools and many work places in e-learning/WFH mode!
The pink + navy outfit is wonderful, though I would switch out the pants since I’m really not a sweatpants/joggers wearer.
I bought two colorful print mix sweatshirts from Lands End in December that I’ve been enjoying as go-to weekend options. The saturated pastel stripe version is just right for the season that is known as “spring” but exists here as “yet more winter.” If you live somewhere with long winters and aren’t an all-neutrals type heroine, having some warm clothes in brighter colors can help keep the winter blues at bay.
I love the color and texture of that pink grapefruit sweater — how can you not like a sweater with that name? Colorful and cozy is a good theme for today. Here in northern Ohio we’re having icy and cold rain. Tomorrow should be near 70!
Oh, I love the pink/navy outfit. I bought a sweatshirt dress this year in a fun plum color and that’s probably what I’ll put on with leggings for today’s stay at home adventure. I’m a little under the weather and it’s uncharacteristically cold here today. So cozy it is!
This is how I dress for most days WFH in the bay area. Chilly and recently wet, but not snowy. Today’s its Hue corduroy leggings, most days it’s stretchy jeans, and I’m wearing a cashmere hoodie with a matching cashmere long sleeved sweater. I will probably put a uniqlo puffer vest on in a bit. I have compression knee socks and suede waterproof low boots on.
I save the business clothes for external meetings, or sometimes for important zoom/teams meetings.
Allie, love the flight attendant joke! I am fairly new to scarves, but have found that if I fold a large square diagonally to create a narrow length, I can treat it as if it were a man’s tie. The difference is that I put the knot much lower and the scarf then acts like a necklace. Easy and out of the way.
Bonus with the pink scarf – I think it is double sided (sky blue) and will still go with the Pink & Navy outfit.
