I’m already at the point where it’s better to break this post into 2 posts; it’s a lot to digest (or to produce!) at 1 time!
The order of the paintings is different this month; I’m hopeful that I can remember to re-order them each month to keep things fresh…
First up – the train station!
Maybe it’s the single-digit temperatures today, but I realized that all of our heroines could probably use a jacket (although these are NOT the jacket one needs for the dead of winter)… Another tee shirt is pretty important at this point, and jeans or other pants.
This heroine is due for something in beautiful soft green (called “eucaluptus steam” – it feels like a humidifier when you have a cold!), and a pair of my favorite grey jeans! Her new jacket is pretty lovely too… (and it’s available in light grey, pink, navy, camel, military green, aubergine, light blue, black, caramel, sand and dark green!)

I’ve had a quilted jacket like this for at LEAST 15 years – one of my best purchases! And everybody doesn’t need boots; high-tops are a fun option (says the woman sitting at her desk wearing purple high-tops!)…

Rothko! If you ever get a chance to visit the Rothko room at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., I strongly recommend it! Your feelings about Rothko will change, I assure you…
This heroine has made a really big decision – she’s adding warm dark caramel brown to her palette for accessories. The contrast of the leather (or whatever…) with her wardrobe colors is great, and this way she has a lot more flexibility finding shoes and bags…
And yes, this decision made it possible for her to choose squirrel earrings to wear with her koala bear scarf!

As with her 2 friends who have finished their shopping, this heroine has a lot of new outfits possible, just from the inclusion of 3 new garments in her wardrobe:
Of course none of these wardrobes are in the same colors as my own, but I think I could manage for a week or so with any of the 3 of these.
I’m getting ready to start a “10 Days, 1 Sweater” and then a “30 Days, 1 Tee Shirt.” That should challenge my ability to mix my clothing in new ways!

Oh gosh, I like all of these, and now I have more neutrals in my closet – which has been a process – I could slip in any of these accent colors. Most drawn to the last two as the colors are deeper and more what I wear. I’ve looked at that Koala scarf before when you’ve featured it. So cute. Thank you!

Your posts are fun to look through, and I find an item or two to add to my wardrobe. I am looking forward to your sweater and tee different challenges. I would love for you to show some silver versus gold accessories. I want to find some unique pieces; you always find such lovely things in gold. Thank you for all you do! I enjoy every post.
I love all of these although I think the colors and casual-ness of the train station is my favorite. I can’t wait for Friday! :)
I loved what you did with The Arrival of The Normandy Train years ago and I still love, love, love it! I would buy the eucalyptus J.Crew tee but alas, it’s cut crooked. I can’t get beyond Jr. High home ec and cutting one’s fabric straight to the grain. So, tee gets an “F”. The beautiful coat is too expensive. The scarf is too big. Still,with a few tweaks this one’s my favorite!
Haha! I loved your comment about Jr High home ec. For me, it’s 4H and my mother’s voice teaching me to cut things straight on the grain. I never buy something that’s cut crooked. I’m crooked enough without putting crooked clothes on me!
I must be missing something. How do you know it’s crooked? don’t see that on my screen.
It looks to me as if it’s bias cut – cut on the diagonal grain rather than straight or cross grains.
It easiest to see in light colored, heather fabrics. If you go to the J.Crew site and zoom in on the camel tee, the one not on a model, it’s easy to see the diagonal “stripe”. The manufacture can get more pieces out of a bolt of fabric and save a few cents. It’s a cost-cutting gimmick and you see it at all price points. Then, they try to sell it to the consumer as somehow desirable, ie: vintage, feather-weight, slub. Because it’s cut “crooked”, the garment will never hang straight and will twist when washed. And then, the consumer will be blamed for not washing according to the label instructions, sigh…
I love the seafoam addition to the train station wardrobe. The Renoir and the Rothko wardrobes appear to be converging already!
The look back is lovely, although not really my colors, but I love the Van Gogh sunflowers series so much I find it appealing.
These 3 paintings are all lovely. I find them a bit sober though. Maybe I would lighten them a bit including ivory/white. Or maybe just wait to see what Janice adds next month!

These are great additions. The Renoir and the Rothko sets are my favorite. So far. That may change Friday, lol. For the info of the folks who have an issue with the eucalyptus steam T, Bean has a Pima cotton T in Glacier Teal. And I can assure you that it is not cut crooked. Just saying.
The train station capsule is too casual for me, but boy do I love her earring collection!
I love the train station capsule- it’s another I could wear without adjusting. I think grey is my favourite neutral. It’s soft, goes with everything and feels cozy.
