Solar Energy When the Days Are Short…
It’s all about the batteries! Electricity can be stored – it’s a game-changer!
So she’s on her way to visit all 3 Scandinavian countries to meet with the designers of solar farms. She’s going to advise them on the best way to array the high-capacity, long-term storage batteries that she invented…
She will have appropriate outerwear and serious lug-bottomed boots, just in case someone wants to go outdoors and actually LOOK at the installations.
She doesn’t consider that necessary. Unless they’ve put them on top of a melting chunk of tundra…
She doesn’t give a lot of thought to getting dressed when she’s on the road. If she’s decent, warm, and wearing something with a touch of sunny warmth, she’s happy!
As with all bright and capable heroines, our solar engineer has lots of ways to get dressed while she’s away from home:
She loves her work. She’s saving the world, one light switch at a time!
love,
Janice
p.s. Six years ago, we took 3 simple wine-colored garments and showed how they would look with 6 different neutrals. It’s interesting to see how different accent colors look with a range of neutrals…

This all seems effortless and yet so practical and stylish. There is absolutely no reason why we can’t all look and feel good while going about our daily lives when we are comfortable in our skin.

I always like your stories and heroines linked to the Fierce Lynx bracelets. The dark blues here are so lovely. My take on this is a dark blue with a soft salmon pink or cameo pink.
The look-back is so timely as we consider our autumn/winter wardrobes – wine, teal and plum/purple are my accents. In the post, you suggest that you might look at the neutrals with pastel accents. Did you everdo that? I would be interested as I plan to keep pastels in my cold weather wardrobe.

Now this is a wardrobe I can get behind. I see all these as neutrals, and have many in my closet. This is great – thank you! Happy Monday!

The look-back posts are always fun but today’s is especially appropriate! I agree with Sheila about getting behind the all neutral capsule presented today. Add in the use of an accent color “set” of an inside top and an outside topper (the post from six years ago) and its a perfect formula for creating a new Fall Capsule Wardrobe. I might want to pick two, or even three, accent colors!

I spent a fun afternoon recently shopping with a friend, checking out the new fall garments. What we noticed is a lot of cosy flannel shirts, long sleeved tees and heavier, woollen shirt type jackets . Cosy and practical seems to be the theme this autumn and I love the look. Your clever heroine fits right in to this trend, thanks for the inspiration ❤️

Lovely wardrobe and heroine. My sustainability course started today, so this is timely in different ways.
Thanks Janice!

Would you post a link to those previous autumn capsules pls? I’m autumn colours dominant and always like to see inspirations for my season.

If you just click on the words “three years ago” they will take you to the original post. Then just keep going forward to the next post and there are several posts in a row where she tries different colors. They are so fun!
Kristi says
Woops, I meant, “six years ago”! Did not mean to confuse you more. 🤦♀️

The navy high-tops, patchwork scarf, and (swoon) sun earrings are my favorites of today’s offerings. It’s a very cohesive set…and though I wonder if she’ll need a skirt, I can see why the swishy denim made the suitcase.
Kristi says
I always love it when navy is the neutral and the clothes are more relaxed. Yet you make them look so lovely together!! Thanks!

Blue & gold, such a rich fall combination! Autumn skies, sunshine and golden leaves.

I love today’s selections. They speak to me in unexpected ways. I will probably be buying some of these items, especially the scales.
Home run!

I love how simple and cohesive this wardrobe is! Very wearable for my lifestyle. Good work as always Janice.

Nice outfits but you really work hard to push the bracelets. I ordered several because of your blog and returned them. The workmanship was not good and colors were not as pictured so with difficulty, I returned them. I would like to see you rely on other brands more often.

This is a great fall capsule. Perfect colors and everything layerable.
Raj says
Perfect for me, too.
Kari says
For some reason, even though these are not quite my colours, the capsule holds a certain appeal. Nice look.

This might be my favourite wardrobe yet!
