Can You do the Tours?
That would be the tours of the cathedral, that are a part of the upcoming anniversary celebration… Since she’s both an architect and an architectural historian, the tours would be simple for her – delightful, in fact…
And frankly, she’s been looking for a good opportunity to spend a weekend there, because she has a MAD crush on the Choir Director…
They’re both single. They’re close in age, and have a LOT in common. This is going to be her opportunity to get know this amazing person better, and see if there’s anything there…
Thus, her travel capsule wardrobe is a festival of feminine touches!
One day the tour will be the crypts, so warm pants are essential. One day, they will be mostly in the main part of the cathedral (including the choir…) so she will be able to wear a beautiful blouse and skirt…
And she’s not going to be timid – she’s going to invite the Choir Director out for dinner! It doesn’t have to become romantic – in fact, in very possibly won’t…
After all, everybody has to eat!
She’s finally realized that she’s old enough to take a chance; nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
love,
Janice
p.s. Four years ago, we investigated the fun of “a hint of hibiscus” with six neutral colors…

The romance author in me loves this scenario very much. A seasoned romance! I can see it now and our heroine will be very chic indeed.

I love the ‘architectural’ look of the first scarf – good find! Also, I hope this heroine comes back for another episode. I want to know how that dinner went!

“Music is the food of love.” Gorgeously feminine wardrobe – love the colours, charming scarves and pretty jewellery. I hope the Choir Master is receptive to her invitation (men sometimes need a nudge) and that she wears the blue floaty blouse to dinner. Such a beautiful story. I hope there is a happy ending.

A few years ago, I went on a Cathedral tour and had to wear a hard hat as we were whisked 300feet up in a lift to look at the pinnacles, new masonry and flying buttresses! ?♀️

Janice,
Very pretty and feminine, but with strength from the navy !

I agree 100%! The peacock scarf and lace loafers are particularly lovely.

Absolutely smitten with pastel cathedral dividers!
Lovely color scheme and enticing storyline. Looking forward to a follow-up post.

Thanks for noticing the dividers! I always try to choose them carefully…

I’m dying for a follow-up to this heroine’s story — and I so appreciate the care you took to avoid pronouns for her love interest. Probably not something a lot of people notice, but it’s very meaningful for me to be able to envision her love story with a little ambiguity :-)
Janice says
Love isn’t about gender… I try to remember that everybody deserves the love they want, in their own way! And yes, I think she’s going to end up spending at least a week or two in this cathedral town…
hugs,
Janice

I love everything about this little vignette, and a few things are going on my holiday wish list, those floral earrings, and both the scarves are to die for! I too am wishing for a happy ever after for the organist and the architect…so much fun to be had with music note motifs (I have a grey scarf with notes on it, and have long been on the lookout for earrings)…
Janice says
Oooh….

G clef earrings right here!

You’re so clever, thanks!

If something’s available for sale on the internet, I can find it! It’s what I spend hours a day working at…

The painting is beautiful!

Beautiful painting, beautiful colors and a beautiful story. I love this color scheme. Not a stitch of beige, camel, or khaki in sight lol. Just makes me happy.

If is not often we people of New Zealand see much of Zeeland.
Beth T says
This painting is of the Johanneskerk, the Protestant church at Domburg, Zeeland, Netherlands.
Sadly – it’s not painted pink!
NATALIE says
Love the story!

What’s not to love about this post?! Love the dividers, and the color scheme is very close to something I could pull from my closet (especially after this year I have added items in mint, and have also added silk shirts). If only that periwinkle shirt came in my size… oh well, at least I’m not forced to spend that money on spot. X)
Also appreciate the ambiguity regarding the romantical interests’ gender. Little acts of inclusivity make this world a gentler place.

This color scheme and wardrobe choices are all delicious, as is the enticing possibility of romance. I look forward to additional installments.
