After I looked for a while at the “Choosing a Scarf” post that I mentioned at the end of yesterday’s post, I was determined that I wanted to try this idea again!
To me, a scarf is the quintessence of your style. It’s a distillation of the colors that you like, as well as the overall kind of patterns or prints or images that delight you…
When I was scarf hunting, I bumped into this designer, and this assortment of lovely things:

As I did before, I’m choosing to show a handful of things that could be worn with each scarf in question. I’m not necessarily suggesting that you need to own all of these things, or that you would wear them all together (that might be overdoing things a bit…).
But what I do think is that the overall idea should have appeal, and should be something that you can picture moving into your closet easily…

Note that this scarf is described as duck egg blue! If only we could get everyone to name colors consistently, eh?
For this next scarf, a matching or toning periwinkle blue tee shirt would be idea, but it proved elusive…

This next scarf and the olive that I chose to put with it demonstrate that you can’t always find the perfect matching jewelry. So long as we have silver, gold, rose gold, gunmetal and heat-treated stainless steel (which is matte black…), we can find something…

I’m not entirely sure about the colors here, but I AM certain that this is the most charming scarf I’ve seen in a while! If you’re a fan of warm earthy tones, take a look at the details of this scarf to see if it might be your new favorite.

Thank you for giving us such loveliness to begin the day. Choosing accessories is such a pleasure and can ‘lift’ an ordinary outfit.
My choice would be the Blackthorn scarf which would fit into my wardrobe quite happily. I also agree that the teal accessories would work equally as well as the pink.
Perhaps you might consider taking this scarf and developing a pink and teal travel wardrobe. It is an unusual colour combination but one I’ve been experimenting with.
This scarf offers up so many other possibilities as well with a lighter pink, two shades of purple, deeper shades of pink and a petrol blue colour. I could wear a scarf like this for years and never get bored with it.
Today is my birthday, so I shall choose something nice to wear even though I’m working at home. Pink, teal and ivory might just be the answer. I’ve been looking for an opportunity to wear a new Marks & Spencer skirt in those colours – bought before lockdown for summer parties… Then tonight, for our takeaway Italian meal, I shall wear my new purple floral maxi dress from Lands End with lilac rose and pearl drop earrings.
The Blackthorn scarf is my favourite choice too Beth for all the same reasons.

Hi Janice! It has been life-altering for me to appear suddenly professional by adding a scarf to a top and capris prior to a tele(speech)therapy session.
Ha-ha! Glad you not really retiring. I have been wearing a scarf instead of a mask for lock down shopping, obviously co-ordinating it with my outfit :), and I really like how it elevates an outfit so I will now be a regular scarf wearer, lock down or not, I am converted.
Can anyone suggest how to stop your glasses steaming up when wearing a mask or scarf. To cover my nose, I have to put the mask on and then my glasses.
With disposable masks, you can use paper tape to tape across your nose and cheeks and it works perfectly. With fabric masks, I’m afraid we all just steam…

There are various ideas on YouTube about how to stop the steaming , including folding up a nasal tissue and wearing that over the bridge of your nose and under the scarf .
I left my apartment today for the first time since March 16 (thank goodness for our balcony!) to pick up computer equipment from my work site, and I had very good luck with a layered mask approach. I tied a smallish silk square scarf, folded once into a triangle, onto my face bandit-style; it was easy for me to get the silk scarf to lay flat to the skin across my nose and cheeks. Then I tied a homemade quilting cotton mask on over it. I also washed my glasses with soap before hand because I had read that helps with the fogging. I was in my mask for about an hour altogether with zero eyeglass fogging and zero skin irritation (I appreciate others for the warnings about how painful mask rashes can be).
Thank you all for the great ideas for steam free mask wearing. I explained this problem to my daughter. She has now made me a mask using a couple of wire bag ties stitched in the middle of the top hem to create a nose bridge piece. I can squeeze it together across my nose – simple idea but it works. I shall try washing my glasses too!
By the way, my birthday meal was great and hubbie had made me a cake!
My son gave me a floral watch for my birthday. ? Not Olivia Burton as that was out of his student price range but brand called Mantaray, which I had also looked at. Pink purple, and teal floral on a silver coloured strap – very pretty it is too!

Oh my goodness, these are all gorgeous. Thank you for showing some oblong scarves – I much prefer them to the square. I would wear every one of these, but the first teal group is my favorite.

My two favorites here are the Ruskin and the Tree of Life scarf. I like the juxtaposition of both warm and cool in the Tree of Life scarf. While I appreciate the subject matter and the accents that you have chosen to go with the Raphael’s Angels scarf, it would need a stronger value contrast within it to be next to my pale face . You have picked winners, once again !

Loved them all, but think the Flowers and Bees was my favorite. Fresh colors and I like a scarf with a border! Is that odd??
The blackthorn scarf is also my favorite! I have lots of teal and purple to wear with it. I think it would look great with denim too.
So pretty Janice, and a real lift for one whose favourite pattern is floral. I had fun trying to decide which scarf would work best with the clothes that I have, and then which I would choose if I were starting from scratch. And THEN I remembered that VF is often about capsule dressing, so perhaps I could choose more than one scarf. Dreaming in a sweetly scented floral haze …

Thank you all for your support and encouragement I am so pleased you have loved our scarves .The designs all have their individual provenance and story so if you are interested in hearing more just let me know .William Morris is the most high profile for textile designs but just check out The Sir John Sloane’s Museum on line it is fascinating and The Ashmolean in Oxford is probably the most high profile museum outside London. Enjoy your virtual trips -its the best I can do .
I have just received the Ruskin Meadow’s Duck Egg Blue scarf. The background leans more toward green than blue and leaves have many shades of olives and greens. There is a rich blue in the flowers that is more blue than turquoise. There is a soft plum that is also very pretty. The scarf will be gorgeous with my olive neutrals and I have some plums. While it is a little different than I expected, I really like it! Glad I stopped debating and purchased this beauty.
