Ah, remember this quite lavish and elegant heroine from this post, and this one?
She’s a specialist in the symbolism around various saints in Gothic architecture. Very successful, very highly regarded around the world. And now, she’s going to be traveling for 2 days every month to present a serious of lectures at the University of Paris. Tough work, eh?
Since the fire at Notre Dame, there’s quite a bit of study being done all over Paris about every detail of the cathedral. She’s essential to helping with some of the reconstruction…
Her hair is still a flawless crown of white braids; her lipstick never budges, and her fingernails are flawless… I believe that she has no idea what denim IS, and has never worn a stitch of it!
She will speak to at least 1 advanced level class every visit, as well as meeting with officials of both the Church and the City. She will always look like herself, and never be mistaken for anybody else…
She doesn’t much care about a lot of versatility in her wardrobe, but she does have quite a few different ways to wear her travel capsule wardrobe for a few days:
I find this whole wardrobe SO tempting… Sigh….
love,
Janice

That is a beautiful and enviable wardrobe. I would choose something similar, if I had a lifestyle that would give me an opportunity to wear it. As it is, I love the lacy socks, perfect under jeans and boots, for when I visit a shoes-off house. Love the warm, rich colours in the painting, I have saved it to my Art Inspiration board.

While this heroine and I are polar opposites in our style, I just love this lush, velvety wardrobe. My job allows me to wear jeans every day if I want, and my non work life is pretty casual. But every now and then, I need to bling it up a bit! This heroine is showing how it’s done with class.

My lifestyle is more casual too. Beautiful color combination! I like to wear warm yellow/gold in my clothing colors, so I’d add that as well as gold accessories/jewelry.

What a beautiful, luxurious wardrobe. The colors are gorgeous. Thank you for creating this.

It’s a beautiful selection but I cannot imagine traveling in it! She better be flying first class because she’d never cram that dress into Economy seats and the blazer would definitely be crushed velvet. A winter trip for sure, because it’s in the 80s in Paris now.

Janice,
What a lush, luxurious grouping of garments, travel or not ! One can dream, eh ? Perhaps one or both of the jackets for holiday parties ?
AK says
Yes, yes, yes!!! Holiday wardrobe to be sure! We all have lots of events that cover the range of casual to dressy. Also-I love this palette. Turns out it’s the uniform colors for the Portland Thorns (women’s professional soccer.) I’d do this palette in a casual pod, too, for trips to Portland to watch my favorite WPSL team!!!

Mmmmm. Love this entire wardrobe, especially the velvet jackets! Wish I had the lifestyle to justify this.

This color scheme is so rich. It says Venice to me and I just love it. You’ve had a similar post a while back which I loved as well. It just grabs me. That tells me to go into my closet and put together an evening outfit with this feel and look. I’ll be ready to go out when the time comes. Beautiful. Thank you Janice.

Oh, bliss! I love this Cranach painting and I love everything about this sumptuous wardrobe. One of your all-time best posts, Janice, no doubt about it!

I would wear any or all of that in a heartbeat (now I’m in the mood for velvet). Also, I want her job! – nancyo
Janice says
You could do her job! Nobody knows as much about saints as you do, in my circle of friends!

Janice

Aw, thanks! While I don’t think my BA in Art History would get me a paid regular gig in Paris, I manage to have plenty of fun under my own steam. – nancyo

The original wardrobe is one of my all-time favorites, and this addition is equally beautiful! I love these colors for winter!

I am drawn to this wardrobe every time! I love the green and the red jackets and the jewel colored scarf! I immediately went to my closet for a look. Well, I found a royal and emerald and red paisley scarf and a royal blue jacket that spun off this idea. I also love the jewelry choices. Such a lovely post! Maybe my degree in Art History causes this magnetic attraction!

I majored in Economics, and I feel the same way… I don’t know why I don’t just imitate this wardrobe now, since I don’t work an office. Maybe I’m too much of a gym rat…
hugs,
Janice

My favourite lady is back! And her wardrobe is even more beautiful than before. A thousand thank yous, dear Janice!
I feel somehow related to her because I graduated in history of art, and red, black and green are my favourite colors. It’s true that any one of her outfits would probably be more expensive than my whole wardrobe… but that seems less important!

I have been collecting velvet jackets for awhile though I live in the tropics..missing the US I guess…I wear them eves for the holidays.

This wardrobe and vignette made me so happy. The colors, textures and styling of this wardrobe is just breath-taking. Thank you so much Janice. This one is a true treasure and I hope you will bring this heroine back AT LEAST once a season.
