She’s a mystery. Not to herself, of course, but most people who don’t get to know her really well are fascinated and intrigued by her quiet, circumspect demeanor. Back in January she traveled to somewhere warmer, and packed the most unusual (but efficient!) assortment of clothes… When she had another trip in April, she packed a stunning combination of olive and grey, with ochre and pink accents! She finally had a break in July and went to a couple of baseball games… She certainly has her own preferences and tastes, eh?
Her very distinctive color palette is taken from her favorite painting. It’s dark, a bit somber, but quite lovely, all at the same time…
I don’t know where she’s going for this trip – I seldom know where she’s going! But I have my suspicions that this is not a business trip… For one thing, she’s softened up her choice of pink… and things are looking a bit romantic? Maybe?
Or maybe she is traveling for business, and is just going to startle them by changing up her usual look with just a touch of softness…
Whatever her plans are, this is a pretty versatile wardrobe!
Clearly, while she’s not going out to fancy dinners, or to the symphony, she still has lots of options to look either classically simple, or just a touch feminine:
I would love to be a woman of great mystery, but I’d have to quit hugging everyone in sight first…
sigh…
love,
Janice

I’m preferring the shades of olive and pink in this wardrobe compared to the earlier wardrobes, as they seem cooler with not so much of a yellow undertone. In reality that could possibly happen if you shop without a colour swatch and not buy with a plan around what you already have. It would be great to see all the wardrobes being analysed at the end of the year with uniformity in mind. Thanks.

Love this and it’s all done with just the one neutral base.

This is wonderful. Love the colors, and similar to the way I and other women in the sustainability/landscape restoration fields dress for regional meetings: practical, yet not afraid of nature-inspired color or florals with a neutral base. My fall/winter daytime neutrals do tend towards olive/dark gray/cream. Florals do not have to be prissy, as this painting and the clothing selection show.
My own wardrobe has definitely improved and gotten more creative since following this blog. Traveling has become easier, too.

Nice post. I used to be checking constantly this weblog and I’m inspired!
Very helpful info specially the remaining section :) I care for such information a lot.
I used to be seeking this certain info for a long time.
Thanks and good luck.

Am I the only one who would totally wear the “sleep tank” under the cardigan? It would be so pretty.
Kelly says
I agree! I’d replace the flowered blouse with the tank in a heartbeat.

I thought the same thing! And under the heavy grey/green LL Bean pullover and the rose Banana Republic pullover (where those are the outer top with no other blouse underneath). With temperatures can change, I can never risk wearing a heavy sweater unless I have something underneath (tank or t-shirt) in case I need to take it off.

Love the olive green and slowly filling the gaps in my wardrobe with it. It’s surprising how well olive goes with maroon.
On another note, wish you had a localizer plugin for your links … I’d like to be able to support this website.

I love olive and gray as neutrals. I don’t see this combination frequently but when I do I always think it looks terrific.

“Passion Flower with Hummingbirds by Heade” is another favorite art of mine besides “SHALLOW DEEP BY WASSILY KANDINSKY” and “PAYSAGE DE NEIGE BY RENOIR, REVISITED FOR SUMMER 2018” from your earlier post.
I enjoy reading your blog and always find something inspiring like “BUILD A CAPSULE WARDROBE BY STARTING WITH A SCARF: CHEVAL SURPRISE REMIX VERSION 2”. It is a true testament that we can all create a new wardrobe by just using what we have in our closet, plus shopping for one or two new pieces to keep it updated.;)
Thank you again for making dressing up in the morning more fun. Keep up the great work!
