Our friend the meeting moderator has been traveling for work a LOT – back in January she was thrown into a really difficult negotiating session, but she was able to take a break to go to the beach in the spring…
Now she’s been told that they FINALLY got those dinner reservations that they’ve been queued up for since about a gazillion years ago! They’re only going away for the night, but it’s a really special occasion – a once in a lifetime meal at a landmark restaurant…
Happily, it’s really easy for her to pack, because she has clear wardrobe guidelines:
They’re going to drive – it only takes about 2 hours. She wants to be relaxed and pretty, as well as warm enough! (some people absolutely adore the car air conditioner…)
They’ll have plenty of time to walk around town a little bit, and maybe even take a nap before dinner – how nice is THAT!
She packing a knockout dress. If she can’t wear it tonight, there’s never be a good time to wear it. And for the next day, she’s packing classic trousers and a graceful top; she can wear either her navy cardigan with these 2 pieces, or her denim jacket…
When she showers before dinner, she pauses for a second to take a look at her travel wardrobe. There’s a sense of security that comes from having just the right things with one on a trip – not too much, not too little.
She knows that she’s going to look nice, and that she’s going to look like herself, which is always the most important thing to consider when thinking about one’s appearance.
Do you look like yourself today?
love,
Janice

Thanks for a capsule with two dresses! Those of us who wear mostly dresses appreciate it.

I had to smile when I read this post….I saw this Vince Camuto dress at the store and I immediately recognized it as being appropriate for this woman! I couldn’t remember the name of the painting but I thought “ooh, that blue vertical woman would love this!” I guess you’re in my head Janice!

Yes, sadly, I look just like me because “me” is hardly ever out of gym clothes… That chevron dress is a head-turner!

This is beautiful. I get so excited about capsules based on navy. Even moreso for a capsule without shorts or tanks! And I love the dresses, and that everything has some kind of sleeve. I’d never wear white (or black), but I’d probably substitute a jacket or cardigan in the reddish colour from the fancier dress.

That dress is indeed a knockout!
And that’s a great question, Janice, Do you look like yourself today … Food for thought.

For my last trip of almost 3 weeks I packed a navy-based capsule. I included my white denim jacket although I debated a bit because it is heavy (always a consideration in air travel) and not quite as comfy as a knit cardigan, but it proved to be a real workhorse. I wore it onto the plane and then changed into a softer layer for the overnight flight. And then back to the crisp white jacket upon landing. I love (and wear) all of the accent colors in this painting, but I tend to combine royal blue and caramel with black rather than navy. – nancyo

I love the Vince Camuto dress. I could very easily wear all this woman’s clothes. The colours and styles are perfect for me. Thank you so much for all the wonderful outfits that you put together. I have learnt so much from you.

I want to take this weekend trip with this stylish lady and dress as her twin! Would that be too much? I hope all your readers do buy up that dress before I can get to it.
I am packing for a MUCH more casual vacation next week, but there will be one day to dress up for the Saratoga races-the ladies in my family always wear hats to the races, even if we have the cheap seats in the grandstand.

Love the colors. I’m only a dress person in the warmer months. That Vince Camuto dress is gorgeous.
