It holds so true for me lately.Recession has hit Greece so violently that between depression and revolution that is not yet around the corner getting dressed is not the pleasure it used to be.Dressing up gets elussive as recession deepens.It's a nice reminder , thanks.
Vivienne, So glad to hear it! I meant every word of it! I'm taking today off — and then it is straight 12 – 14 hour days until the grading is done! I think I have the China wardrobe sorted — capsule of dark browns with one animal print blouse and a henna colored sweater and several scarves/shawls — will try to whittle down to three). It will be cold, so am taking a down knee length coat — I so appreciated your reminder that the classic trench isn't for all of us. When life is a little less hectic, I may ask for assistance in building a capsule wardrobe in colors for an autumn woman for the summer (including pieces that will travel and a Hermes scarf to lust for). I was thinking about having a wardrobe made in Shanghai — but, not enough time to plan it (and, I'll have to save up for it). Merry Christmas. Hoping to meet you in person, soon. Susan
I think this was the same intention behind the British government's pleas to women to do their hair and wear lipstick during the war: to keep up national and military morale. I like it!
Right. Have now read every post, from the bottom up! A lot of it I knew, but it's always good to have confirmation. Some of it I can't do – but it's always good to know one's limitations (What do some people actually see in the mirror?)
Evernote is full of 'Vivienne recommends' 'Wardrobe essentials' 'casual retired wardrobe' 'Where to find Petite clothes!' and a couple of the colour palates I really loved. So, I guess that means I'm a devoted fan.
Hope ours is a long and fulfilling relationship :-) Please, do carry on! I consider it 'Continuing Education'. (And now I can go do some housework…)
