I’ve been tying scarves like this for decades, and I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anybody else do this! So I’m sharing with the world…

Thanks for the tip.I'll try .Tell me is this a trinity ring? It's on my top list for jewelery. Until then I wear a silver one for years now together with the wedding ring.
Vivienne says
Yes, our wedding rings are trinity rings from Cartier. They are so lovely…

Brilliant. Can't wait to try it. Classy and simple and also fascinatingly complex. I often don't like silk scarves on me, but this would be a great look. Thank you!

Nice tie! I love how clean and simple the result looks.

I use this knot all the time; it creates a cushiony layer at the neck that- for winter in Montreal- is both snuggly and shows the pattern to advantage. Drop by Feb. 16, I'll have a post on choosing carrés and would love to have your ideas.

Beautiful! I can see that I've been neglecting to properly hide the knot in mine…now I will be able to do that more successfully. And the H Feux d'Artifice! I've never seen it worn — it's gorgeous!

I love how this method shows off more of the scarf's colours. And, I love your beautiful curls even more!

Am wearing this knot today on a beautiful Pina Colina scarf I purchased in Mexico six years ago. I've already gotten three complements! for those of us who are challenged by tying knots behind our necks — I just slid it around, did the tuck, and slid it back. It worked perfectly. Thanks again!! Susan (Minneapolis). P.S. Absolutely beautiful curls!!!!

Oops — Pineda Covalin scarf from Mexico. Absolutely beautiful line of traditional and modern designs.

Thank you. I love this knot. Going to wear it today. I very much prefer a scarf tied with the ends not dangling down. This looks tidy and understated yet adds interest to my neutrals.

Dear Vivienne, thanks for the tutorial – a neat way to wear a scarf. I love your hair too.

Hi Vivienne, Thanks for your kind words on my blog as they made me smile all day. I love wearing silk scarves and I am going to try out your knot as it looks so elegant and shows off the nice colours in so many scarves.

I'm in trouble, I feel myself being drawn by the siren song of beautiful scarves and awesome ways to wear them.
I love this infinity look, I'm gong to try it out on my long knitted scarves.
ps Your hair looks very youthful (in a good way) and healthy.

So that's how you do it. I too just stumbled upon your blog and thanks for sharing the scarf trick with us. Love your fashion travel wardrobe ideas too.

Lapin – big hug to you! Sam – welcome, and thanks for being here!
Thanks to all of you, honestly, for your comments. Blogging is a lonely project, and comments are what keeps me going!

So very happy to have stumbled upon your blog…a fabulous resource (been reading practically all night!).
However silly it may sound, I simply love your mind!
Duchesse says
Try it with one more twist round (at 5th photo stage) before you tie the ends back behind you; I knew there was a slight variation b/t your tie and mine but just figured it out. (And I will try yours!)

Ah, I have many scarves I wear in many ways, but I hadn't thought of this. I will try it immediately! And, you know, based on your preferred palettes, I had always assumed that you had very, very dark brunette hair–probably thick, chin-length, and very straight. How wrong I was! I wonder what gave me that impression?
Vivienne says
Ah, that's the hair of my DREAMS! My hair actually is quite dark when it's not reflecting flash, but it's fine as frog fuzz (my father's term for it) and insanely curly. If I grow it much past 3 inches, it takes on a life of it's own and requires a leash and a license…
I'm sticking with black as long as my eyebrows (thick) and eyelashes (stupidly long) stay black!
big hug,
V
