Nice!
I am looking EVERYWHERE for a pair of taupe boots. I wish Aquatalia or La Canadienne came out with a wedge-ankle-version this year.

PS – I am going to substitute deep red/garnet for denim here, ok? ;)

The trouble with this blog is: I want to do every combination!! All are lovely and would be easy to wear…problems, problems, problems.

By chance, I came across your blog and your talent at wardrobe planning and ideas were just what I was looking for on the internet. I have been going through my wardrobe and realized I have way too much for my lifestyle. I am a kindred spirit, but just didn't know how to go about it. I have tried to employ the KISS principle in my life, but seemed to get bogged down by what is out there – the latest and greatest etc. I know deep down that buying classic good quality clothing that fits well and you love is what works for me. Now to learn to trust my instincts and take my time and not accept its just okay.

I love your blog, and am dazzled by your creativity.
Do you have any suggestions for a woman of a certain age (but who was recently told by a charming French man that she is "joyeuse") who must attend her company's holiday party but has nothing in her closet that fits anymore (not having had to attend these things for several years)? Thank you!

This is a great chance to buy something that you'll be able to wear weekly for years to come! If I had to start entirely from scratch, I'd go one of two ways, depending on how dressy your event will be. If it's "medium dressy", I'd invest in a nice pair of pants, and a top of some sort in the same color (things that can be worn for all events…) and then find a dressy cardigan – beaded or embroidered. If it's TRULY dressy, find a dress. Something really simple – no ruffles or beads or fripperys of any sort. Add a necklace and earrings, or a scarf, simple shoes, great posture, a big smile and an open heart. You will be the most beautiful woman there!

I'm trying to picture short boots with a skirt — would you wear tights that match the boots? This will make it a lot easier to find a pair of boots that I can wear with my numerous skirts!
Janice says
Yep – I'd match the tights as closely as possible to the boots!

Thanks!
