OMG, when I clicked the link, there they were — a higher version in black and PURPLE!!! We did, after all, get 2 feet of snow here in NE over the weekend. Is there such a thing as a Blizzard Gift?? WAIT, WAIT — VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!! Where's my credit card???

So happy that you posted on this–an answer to my question on yesterday's post! This is such a useful resource, day in and day out. I still refer often to one of the original Vivienne capsule wardrobe posts (the one with hypothetical outfits for every day).

It was your question that finally convinced me I had to tell everybody about these boots! I don't know quite how they're made, but I can happily attest that I can be out in the cold pretty much indefinitely and not feel it – at least in my feet!

Cool. I'm hoping my local REI will have them in stock.
Have you ever tried Sorels? There's an old, made in Canada pair on eBay right now in my size, and I'm tempted. I hear good things.

Hi. I am true Canadian girl (living through -40 Celsius regularly) and my go to warm weather boots are Sorels. I also have Hunter wellies with the thermal sock, and a few other wintery boots but Sorels have been the constant. They last forever too, especially if they have replaceable insoles, and are usually rated for extremely cold weather. I highly recommend them.

Agreed. Awesome, and stylish.

Do they grip well on ice?

Bogs are on the feet of many, here where the snow comes in December and stays till at least March. Traction is excellent, they are warm enough to withstand the demands of being outside for extended periods of time, and they are waterproof all the way up. I, too, am tempted.

Last Sorels I looked at were made in China :(

That's why eBay = great! Old ones pop up there.

I'm still so loyal to my LL Bean winter boots. Since I live in New England, it's not uncommon to see someone wearing a work outfit with them! I am pretty much living with a blend of the Project 333 and Common Wardrobes…with a few other items thrown in. My Bean boots go with everything. Especially following Nemo!
I do like Bog boots very much. My only problem with them is that they just aren't as warm as Shearling Bean boots. My recommendation wouldn't be for their winter boots, cute though they may be. However, their classic tall black rain boots are AWESOME.
