Stuart Weitzman – they're currently on sale, still painfully expensive. But comfortable as bedroom slippers, and should last at least 10 years – my shoes from him have a very long life-span!
I have a very similar Stuart Weitzman. It's the gray alligator brogue with a heel. I tried on the pair you purchased and LOVED them, but my very practical daughter said, "You have plenty of flats You should get something similar, but with a heel."
I rarely wear heels, and love comfortable shoes…mostly Stuart Weitzman and Taryn Rose. Both brands *are* expensive, but owning a pair of heels that I can actually walk in is priceless. They're fabulous quality and do last forever.
Great post! You really show how important accessories are to elevate any outfit. I went back to work this past week after a long absence and putting your good advice to use. Bought a few nice belts, a beautiful scarf and an oatmeal EF sweater to round out my wardrobe and that is it for the year.
Janice, what a great week. I love your running commentary.
Ellen, my local DSW just started carrying Taryn Rose. Still not cheap, but more affordable.
I no longer wear "real" heels. Thanks to many years of yoga practice, my feet won't let me! So I'm always on the lookout for shoes I can really walk in..
It's always fun eavesdropping on your clothes talk to yourself, Janice…I love these What I Wore posts. Do you need to replace your discarded tweed jacket with a silver cardigan or pale gray cashmere turtleneck to make more of an event of your wondrous silver-toed shoes?
Thank you a lot, Janice, for your blog ! I discovered it by Laurence Einfalt and I really like your ideas, especially the posts "step by step". (Sorry if my english is full of errors !!) Orangette
I think it's called Jardin des Metamorphoses – if you can find any close up pictures of it, the design is of vines and plants that have hidden animals in them. Sometime I'll try to talk Belovedest into a couple of detail photos of it.
I enjoy and learn from these WIW posts too – the reasoning and the illustrations are so helpful! And of course seeing new ways to put a week's outfits together from the home collection. Excellent topic, Janice, thank you.
