I need a red sweater…it will go on my shopping list for next fall! Great looks!

I have a red linen EF cardigan and also a red v-neck for colder weather. It will be in the 60s today so I'll break out the cardigan and pair it with navy/white pinstripe. I do like that combination a lot even though I think I look like the American flag. :)) Where do you come up with the endless ideas? The same sweater looks very casual or quite elegant depending on the pairings. Talk about getting mileage out of your clothes…

You are awesome.
Seriously.

This series is spectacular. It is astonishing how a single, simple article of clothing can span both seasons and styles.
Thank you!

Love the blue-ness of that red. So good with skin! Nothing perks me up like wearing red! Great collection. thanks.

And for those whose skin needs an orange-red, it's easy to make substitution. Gorgeous outfits, but that first delightful celebration of polka dots may be one of your all-time best; It's impossible not to smile when looking at it.

love those little silver flats!

Alright. Thats's it! I haven't worn a pullover in years. Gotta try one now. That red is amazing! Really, its like wearing a T-shirt but way more polished. Thanks!

Someone mentioned mileage. I just bought a small RV with a very very small closet. Your site is the answer to my wondering how I would pack only enough and still look put together while on the highway for months at a time. I hope to see most of the U.S. while I still can. Thank you!

These are all so lovely! I see a red pullover in my future!

Another great post, Janice. I love red! Having lived in Spain before, one can never underestimate the power of red shoes….
I noticed Hermes scarves are often present in your posts – what are your criteria of choosing one? Thank you!
Janice says
If I like the scarf, and if I feel like it pulls everything together into a coherent ensemble, rather than just a random bunch of clothes that I grabbed without a plan or scheme. Hermes (and most scarves, honestly) are very forgiving, and unbelievably useful!

The red and purple combinations are stunning.I haven't worn my red sweaters for a while. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. The scarves you added with the jeans and khaki combinations are just perfect.

I am just now seeing this post in August, 2020. It remains relevant and up-to-the-minute. Dressy to casual. I especially love the print skirts. You have really upped my game. Thanks, Janice!
Janice says
Dear Connie,
My goal blogging is to show things that will still look appropriate and relevant 5 or 10 years after they’re first published. Clothes are too important, and too expensive, to churn through a bunch of cheap stuff…

Janice
