Among the many perks of blogging full time, I think the best so far is that I get to spend much more time with Belovedest. Particularly fun is either walking to his office with him in the morning, or walking over to meet him after work and then walking home together. In doing this, I get to see literally thousands of women, every day, either going to or leaving their workplaces. One woman, who either lives or works very near to our home, wear the same coral, turquoise and gold necklace EVERY day. After I saw her the third time, I mentioned to her – in passing- that I recognized her necklace, and that it seems to be a favorite. Her reply, with a very moving and wistful smile: “I wear it every day; it’s very special to me.”
More power to anybody who feels strongly about something and takes action to make it a part of their life, every day…
love,
Janice

I am not a very 'colorful' person, but I do like coral and turquoise together. It is very pretty. Saw someone at the airport recentyl who paired it with all grey. Very chic. Btw, is your blog list empty now?

Never mind, I am receiving it now. My aging computer is acting up again.

I love this necklace! Since I wear a very neutral palette for much of the time, I took your advice and found my two favorite 'signature' colors…which happen to coral and turquoise. (These morph into burgundy and teal in the winter). I love the idea of having a signature piece of jewelry that could incorporate both of my favorite colors into one piece of jewelry. Or, two, seasonally speaking.
Great food for thought.

Burgundy and teal are my favorite accent colors too! I like your idea of picking softer tones of the same shade for summer – I was beginning to feel like burgundy and teal were a little dark now that it's summer.

I do this as well! I like coral and turquoise with whites and blues in summer and burgundy and teal with charcoal greys in winter!

That is a gorgeous necklace. It would work with most of my wardrobe. So nice that you can do work that you enjoy close to your beloved one.

I love your use of colors in all of your clothing sets – I feel that I have learned so much about accessorizing by reading this blog. Very glad that you are now doing it full time!

I regularly see women wearing subtle, delicate items regularly. For example, diamond studs or a wedding set. I love the idea of something more bold being such an essential piece of daily wear.

I bet there is a sweet, sentimental, compelling story behind that necklace, and me being me, I would ask her to share it. People who dress with such meaning and intent have deeply compelling thoughts worth knowing.

I thought about asking her, but she just didn’t seem like a person who would divulge the full story. Some time I might…

I do wear the same necklace everyday. For the last 10 to 15 years when it was given to me. It is a mother-of-pearl button necklace with 5 seed beads between each button. There are 10 strands of 10-13 buttons on each strand. It goes beautifully with almost everything I wear and sometimes I use it as a base for layering other necklaces on top. I feel like Theodora of Byzantium when I wear it. It’s simple but gorgeous and reflects the light softly and beautifully. I receive compliments every time I wear it. I never seem to tire of it and look forward to wearing it each time I put it on.
I love the work you do. It’s always fresh and inspiring. Thank you.

I also have worn the same necklace for the past 4 years, day and night. I’ve never taken it off! It’s a beaded choker with blue, turquoise, and pearl colored beads I bought at a thrift store for $2. My husband hung a beautiful blue pendant on it, and I’m complimented on it weekly.
