Yes! Love the flats….this is one of my favorite colors!
Why can't we just call it purple and let it join our other purple clothing?! ;o
OMG NO – you're applying logic to fashion? That will never do… :)
OMG NO JANICE – isn't this blog supposed to be about style not fashion ….. lol
OMG I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!
i was soooo going to wear my purple jacket and boots and call it acai… now i am confused too…
Gee…I was going to call it Amethyst! Whatever it's called, it's beautiful, and it looks great on me!
Excellent! I was wondering what to wear next week. It will be a purp… uh, no wait… acai week. Note to self: stop by the wonderful little consignment shop to look for pur…acai bead bracelet.
Gorgeous color and those names crack me up!
I love the common wardrobe – it looks a lot like what I have put together, so seeing how to infuse color into it is awesome! It's amazing how just a few pieces can give such versatility with neutrals. Thanks!
I usually (well, never) buy colored shoes, preferring neutrals instead. In your previous post about puzzles you mentioned how important it is to repeat an accent color somewhere else. So, accent belt with coordinating jewelry, or is that straying too far into the matchy-matchy territory?
You should only wear what you find to be comfortable for you – if it's not colored shoes, then don't go there. A belt with jewelry would work nicely; if you feel matchy-matchy, then try to think about why, and if it never works that you wear coordinated accent colors, then don't do it. There are no rules that have to be applied to everybody, ever…
Thanks, you are the voice of reason in the crazy world of fashion and style.
This series has been great Janice – I'd been wondering how to incorporate some of the colors I love into my neutral wardrobe – and this is the perfect solution!!!
This is the color that drew me out of my shopping ban this fall and I can't get enough of it. I can wear it, but I can't pronounce it!
I like to keep my wardrobe down to navy, gray, white, and teal, but purple is my favorite color, so I bought nail polish in this shade and can't wait to wear it! I would totally consider mixing in those shoes too.
The debate over the names of colors has me laughing my head off. Great post.
Ooh, I do love me some purple! I've got a great purple skirt that I wear all the time (see here: http://birdybegins.wordpress.com/2013/09/21/autumn-dressing-heroes/) but I think I need a bit more – maybe a cardigan too.
Is it just me, or does this look a little too dark to wear with black, and maybe with the denim too? I love it as an accent with the beige pants, though. And is it "a-sai", "a-cai", "a-cee", or something else? I've never heard it pronounced!
