Haven't been able to give up my navy or purple clothes yet – am headed for grey and pink, so you can tell it's a long step! There's just something about both that I love … and i know have two navy pieces. Maybe several more purple ,,, and they go so well with the grey anyway. Loved these choices.

This seems to not be the year to find navy dress heels. I have been looking for 3 months after my pair of 20 years gave up their life. I love the classic thinner heel -not the chunky style and no open or peep toes for me! I've found 1 pair and have to order them by mail to even find out if they will work.

I have been struggling with this same problem for the past few years. I noticed that Aerosoles (one of my favorite brands) has a few choices this fall and I will be trying them out.

Ros Hommerson does a navy heel every year – I have the shiny patent version, but they have one in navy kid leather on 6pm for a great price! They tend to have slightly chunky heels, though.

Nadine – there are a bunch on Zappos website.

Never paired purple with navy before, but I really like it.
Will wear my drivers today with my head held high. :))

This is one of my favorite combinations! I wear a lavender blouse with a navy suit with navy slingback pumps. An antique necklace that picks up both colors rounds out the outfit.

Thank you for your blogs it has given me interest and ideas which i so needed to help put a capsule wardrobe together and it has made a shopping trip much less hard work when at least you have an idea of what colour to buy or what item of clothing your missing

As usual you have given me some great ideas for fall. I have not ever paired navy and purple, in fact, I just adopted purple into my wardrobe in the last year or so. Thanks.

Fabulous, thank you so much! Having had great success with my personal Project 333 this spring and summer, I'm struggling a bit with the fall/winter editions. I already have in my closet navy, brown, black, taupe AND grey as neutrals. And blues, purple, ivory, and coral as my preferred accent colours. So trying to pare it all down to a core of 33 is a challenge at the moment. Brown is out but taupe may stay. And, gasp!, I'm going to try and cut out the black as a core neutral. Seeing the purple with the navy in this post has really helped to confirm that decision — so as I said, thank you!

I love your color pairings and as others have said, I get inspired to try new things from my own closet.

Zappos has some very nice navy heels. My favorites are by Anne Klein and Nine West, and are very affordable!

Thanks for the help with the navy heels. The one pair I love and I HAVE looked everywhere, and that is my style is the Naturalizer Oribel. Just have to mail order it now though since no stores in my area seem to carry it. Aerosoles in my opinion, is not a true navy they are blue. My color navy is just like the military-almost black, which is what is making it so hard to find anything.

Actually that is REALLY helpful. I have a purple boiled wool jacket on the orphan rail right now and never thought about pairing it with my navy pieces thank you.
