Another one of those unexpected, but really eye-catching, uses of accessories to breathe life into dark outerwear, on dark days.

In Germany we call this color anthracite as it has a little bit of brown in it. At least that's what it looks like on my screen. That duffle coat is a beauty.
A cognac brown seems to work best with gray, I think.

Love me a grey coat! I saw a lovely alpaca (I think) belted wrap coat worn with a light blue cashmere scarf the other day. Lovely! Sadly, I can't seem to find a similar coat anywhere this year. I love a raglan sleeved wrap coat. SO forgiving after all the transgressions of the holidays:)

Lovely color combination. I have the coat and bag, now all I need is a paid of new boots! What type of scarf would you recommend with this combination, with a cream turtleneck and dark grey trousers or wool skirt?
Grey, brown, a grey and brown pattern (plaid, paisley, etc.) or cream. Pretty much any combination of cream, grey and brown is going to be perfect!
Well, now you've done it…I vowed not to so much as enter a store after Christmas but now I can almost see a plaid or paisley scarf in luggage brown and grey…it's calling to me…but at least it will be on sale wherever it is. Thank you, I think!
Since grey and brown, especially in the pieces shown, reads quite' menswear', I would soften it with a scarf that has some feminine colours, like pale blue- an Etro paisley or one like this:

This is a quintessentially Italian combo; there, men would never pair a grey suit with black shoes, it's this rich, burnished chestnut. Wonderful to see it in womens' wear too, it's a much more elegant combo than grey with black.
