So colorful and fun!
Love these! I can almost feel the Spanish sun!
I've always loved the assembled outfits, but I particularly like the pictures with everything for the year, or summer. It's a great way to see everything in one glance. I do have a question, though. These last few posts have had lots of skirts and dresses. Do women really wear them enough to have so many?
That's a very good question – I wear dresses and skirts a lot in warm weather because I don't really like wearing shorts, but I like the coolness of a skirt. Does anybody else do this, or should I focus more on shorts? Capris? Lightweight pants?
I love summer skirts and dresses–but only in my dreams do I have $800 (and that's the sale price!) for the versatile Charles Anastase cotton dress I'm so coveting here!
Well, it's actually linen and silk, but still…
Oh yes, I, too, enjoy wearing dresses and skirts in warm weather. Often much more comfortable than shorts and pants. Besides, most dresses and skirts (if knee-length or longer) look well-dressed and are wearable for many different occasion.
As a result of reading your posts, I bought a dress in the fall and am planning to experiment with a skirt this summer. That LLBean number you show might be a good start. With a shift in body shape over the past year or so, I'm thinking skirt/dress will be a solution to the pants-that-don't-fit. Must admit I'm a bit tired of the time and energy it takes to shop for pants, there are more interesting things to be doing!
I am definitely a skirts and dress girl too in the warmer months!
I wear skirts and dresses every day and hardly ever wear trousers, so yes!
Skirts and dresses in the summer – absolutely yes. I can't stand shorts/capris.
One more vote for skirts and dresses!
Janice, thanks for your chic and imaginative wardrobe ideas! I love the colors here. I also appreciate that you show a variety of summer sleeve lengths, as the 3/4 sleeve is my best friend. You had asked about capris vs skirts – and yes, I'd love to see some 'capri capsules' as those are more my staple in summer months. I look forward to your blog each morning.
And especially dresses with 3/4 sleeves!
I love the skirts and dresses and actually don't wear pants all that often — I'll just substitute a skirt into a capsule in my mind where there might be a pair of trousers or shorts in a post. LOVE this collection. I have a beige linen dress that I am not ready to part with and this gives me some great ideas. Susan
Yes, yes, YES to skirts and dresses, summer and winter!!!
I love skirts and dresses year round. I also do love cropped pants and shorts. Another summer favourite are the skorts. A great casual summer alternative if you are not trying to hide your legs.
I know it's much colder in Chicago than in North Central AR, but these clothes look like a warm ray of sunshine. As for skirts and dresses, I wear them a lot in warm weather, having relegated my shorts to yard work only. I keep going back and forth on capri pants. I see so many of them worn with white lace-up shoes….
Love the bursts of color! I am not a skirt/dress wearer but I just imagine replacing them with my bottom of choice. :)
Skirts and dresses for me. I never wear capris or shorts and rarely wear pants. I think skirts and dresses tend to be more interesting when creating an outfit.
I think capris are rather unflattering on most women, esp. women after 50, who tend to wear them a lot (at least that is the case in Germany). Skirts and dresses do much better job for 99,9% of ladies.
I think I agree. Either a tailored above knee short, or the slim ankle length cropped pants. The capri length can easily look dowdy on most everyone.
This is a beautiful layout – the colors are exquisite -you are a wonderful artist!
Really nice blog. So well written and beautifully presented. Brings back memories of the classic feminine fashion styles and how beautiful women looked at that time. Thank you for sharing this with us.
