I’ve found that storing my jewelry hidden away just isn’t working well for me – I forget what I have, and then I have a really bad habit of buying duplicates. So I bought myself a couple of dozen pretty taffeta drawstring bags (from here), tucked all of my necklaces into their own bags, and tossed them into a pretty Spode serving dish. Now they sit on the corner of my desk looking ornamental, and keeping me from doing more shopping… Makes packing jewelry quite simple, and cuts down on tangling and scratching too!

What a good idea. So much better than stretched out around the edges of my dresser!

What a lovely thing to see….I've started to use some of my 'old' Lenox gold and cream serving pieces for all kinds of things in my closet and bath. As for necklaces, I discretely hung a tie bar in my closet and hang all my necklaces and belts. This way, I can see them and they don't get tangled. Not as pretty as yours, but it works.
Warmly, Kathleen

Love this idea, Janice! Thanks for the link. These are the type of bags Chico's places jewelry purchases in. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

That's really pretty Janice. For the last 7-8 years I've been using a jewelry armoire that works very well for me. I have quite a bit of silver jewelry and this armoire keeps it tarnish free plus it's got an almost full-size mirror on the front. My cats would love to play with jewelry so I wouldn't be able to leave it out in little bags. You can see the armoire at:

I like this idea, currently have my jewellery sitting on a divided plate in my wardrobe but it gets messy and dusty.

Lovely! Looks like a fabric bouquet. :)

That's a pretty way of keeping things organised. I use an ornamental plate holder that hangs on the wardrobe wall – with six arms, there's plenty of room for hanging chains and necklaces.

Great idea! What size did you use? Thanks!

I use these too, but in a drawer (which I open daily). Some necklaces can be hung, but I would not suggest hanging pearls or other beads that are strung on silk, as it is hard on the fiber.

I use a men's belt hanger (24 pegs, one per) for necklaces, a dowled bracelet rack, and a hanging earring rack with slots and holes. They look pretty AND I can see them all.

I use these for a few of my fine chains. The chunky costume jewellery is strung over the edges of the mirror on my dressing table.

I like this idea too. I have some of the bags from Chico's purchases, and they do make packing easier. I used to keep my jewelry in boxes in a drawer, and I'd forget about them. When I made my Spring capsule wardrobe this year, I started hanging bracelets and necklaces on the hanger with the top I'd most likely wear them with. I like the way my closet looks, and I'm less likely to forget about them. However, I will be buying some of these lovely bags. Thanks for the link, Janice.

I also use a 4-a-day pill box (28 compartments) for my earrings, since most of them are small. When I travel, I move the ones I want into a 7 compartment pill box. It's easy and protects my earrings.

Quite clever! what size pouch did you purchase?
Janice Riggs says
3 by 5 inch. They seem to be working well!

I purchased an item from a television shopping channel – by Joan Rivers, Actually, it was a set of 2. I have to say, I absolutely love them. They are the size of a large shirt and both have hangers. One is filled with velcro straps in 3 rows on both sides, the other is filled with clear plastic pockets in assorted sizes. They hold a LOT of jewelry quite safely and makes it very easy to see what I have. I can group things if needed, and I keep a few pockets for sunglasses, bra straps, extra buttons (that came with garments), and colored socks. They hang right next to my scarves and clothes. I love them. I just wish they were a bland solid colour. In true Joan RIvers style they are leopard print and that is my only regret – butonly came in that. Nevertheless, SUPER handy.
