In an otherwise extremely unremarkable outdoor mall, we found this lovely tree (proving that if you look for beauty, you WILL find it):
I’m pretty certain it was an ornamental cherry tree – I’ll check back later this summer to see if, in fact, it produces cherries! But what really caught my eye was the juxtaposition of the grey/taupe of the tree bark, and the surrounding pavement, with the green, white and yellow of the flowers. So (you know me) I thought of color schemes for travel and summer…
Lots of lovely options available here! If you have some nice floral photographs, send them on – [email protected]. I’ll do what I can….
love,
Janice

My hunch is it's a crabapple, which are in bloom in Chicago right now, so look for little apples instead of cherries. Beautiful color combo — I have an Eileen Fisher linen cardigan that shade of green that I have had for several years and look forward to pulling out and putting on every spring. Ahh, Spring!

Gosh that's pretty! And I could see this particular color combo being very flattering on women with both warm and cool coloring. That's the beauty of taking inspiration from nature – its colors suit us all so well.

So that's why I bought a green linen dress from Hobbs last year?! ;) To go with my sandals and grey drape cardigan, of course… and this year the white linen tunic, ditto…?!
Lovely colours.

Love the taupe and white neutrals with the pop of colors for summer. What a great wardrobe combo.

I agree with sisty – it looks like a crab apple. The colors are beautiful. My only quibble is the length of the sleeves on the green dress. If they were slightly shorter you could layer some of the tops over the dress when it gets cooler out.

Love apple green! And yes, I'd put down money that those are apple blossoms. :-)

Nature is never wrong. Whenever one sees an ugly flower colour, it is usually a "man-made" hybrid. Great place to take inspiration from.
