I rarely see anybody wearing green, and I almost NEVER see a mixture of shades of green in one outfit, so it was truly a red letter (or a green letter, I suppose) day when I saw both of these women. Sometimes it’s certain that these kinds of ensembles are the result of carelessness, or color-blindness, but in both of these cases it was clear that a deliberate plan was at work. Bold statements, but eye-catching and fun. Not for the faint of heart, but certainly something in this to inspire us.

I could have been the woman you saw. (I know that I definitely wasn't lol) I regularly mix shades of greens in one outfit. I also love various shades of purples all together. To my eye, no other colors seem to mix/match as well as purple or green do, but I adore the sort of haphazard, tone on tone look that comes from doing so.
I am true spring so I look good in green. I am trying to wear olive and limon green together (diferent tons of one colour). It would be very praktical to see more green in your outfits ;-)
Love some greens, olive, spring etc. Even wearing them together once in a while. It's hard to find enough quality pieces for a capsule though.
I have one green outfit. I remember that the color is called spinach. Thank you for reminding me that I haven't worn in a while (for no good reason as it fits and I like it). Years ago, when I was very young, I had green wool coat.
Love green and wear it often, but never thought of mixing the shades. Hmmmmm……
Another green fan here – it's my favourite accent colour. Mixing different shades of the same colour used to be a 'no-no' but I'm really pleased to see much more of this recently. I like the casual note it adds, things that are too matched can look a bit forced and self-conscious.

Oh I love this. What are some tips of yours to keep outfits like this from looking haphazard or unplanned?
Green is my favorite color! Since learning that I am a Bright Winter, I have come to regard bright Kelly green as my best friend. It makes my eyes look amazing, but is terribly hard to find. I wonder why you don't see people wearing green much? As the color of plant life, it feels very much like a neutral to me and very versatile. I mean, every color of flower looks good with its green leaves!
Love, love, love greens! As a soft autumn this color looks fabulous on me. I don't need to tell you which starting from scratch wardrobe I like the best!! Green really is a neutral color which goes with everything (look around on your next walk).
Please, please, feature more uses with this wonderful color..thank you, Janice, for sharing your
passion in life and never ending creativity.
I love the green outfits and even better love the notion of blending various tones of the same colour throughout an outfit. Perhaps you could show us some examples using a variety of colours?

There are certain shades of green that really suit me. I can wear olive and dark bottle green and last year I bought a J Jill alpaca shawl cardigan in a muted heathered leaf green and other than an eye-popping bright lime green all other shades make me look ill and teal green makes me look ancient. LOL!
I don't think I've ever mixed green shades, blues yes, not greens.
Isn't it amazing how colour can make or break your skin colour!
Green is my favorite color, but mixing the shades isn't pleasing to my eye.
Love green! I wear it often. I love both these combos but I never would have thought to put them together. Glad to see it.

I love greens, but I don't care for mixing yellow-greens with blue-greens. I don't mix blue-purples with red-purples, either, and it used to drive me crazy to see them mixed at church during Advent.
I do wear green but in an analogous way. I have light warm skin with blue-grey eyes. So I very happily wear blue-greens at the same contrast level of my eyes (so medium value) and happily wear light green-yellow (chartreuseish) that is analogous with my skin (light value). I steer away from any dark muddy greens and also straight greens. My two greens that I wear actually don't go that well together either. I don't mix & match them at all. Plants just get it right every time! Thanks for the post. Carol S
You have SUCH a good eye!
I love the olive-y green of the first outfit and would never have thought to bring in bluer tones. So charming.
I love green. My down coat is a dark olive green (Lole). I have green eyes and warm colouring. I tend to only wear one green piece at a time. Your post has given me some inspiration. Thank you.
I love the turquoise and olive combo, and enjoy seeing shades of green combined so long as they all have the same undertones. I second the comment above; please do more of these in other colors. Mary
I love green and wear it all year long. A favorite outfit this winter is a Mint sweater and Grey pants.
I love the pairings in this article. Bring on the greens!
Nice post, things explained in details. Thank You.
