I will be out of town on business next week. Part of it will be very business like at a lawfirm, part of it casual prepping for it. You have given me some great ideas here.. I have narrowed it down to three scarves as my starting point. :)
Blue plus brights – you are calling my name!!
Hi Ho Silver I love those options!
Hi Janice, not only do you pick denim but you pick very interesting pieces. I particularly like the blouse and the dress. The problem is that all these inspirations create a dilemma. Yes, we want to have a small special wardrobe but there are so many wonderful options.

Thank goodness I don't wear a size 2 and could actually fit into all these stunning garments; if I did, then I'd really have a dilemma!
Agree denim blue (from palest soft blue to dark washes) suit everyone, given the right accessories. Is it any wonder we keep buying our denim or at least that colour? Also, I'm ever more devoted to clothes that I can wear at least 3 seasons, 4 is the holy grail, and denim seems practically seasonless. (We have a few linen weeks but in n/e Canada denim works in summer too.)
Who doesn't like denim? I love your options. The question isn't what works with denim. The question is what does NOT work with denim blue. Any of the accessory sets you have been presenting recently would be gorgeous with denim. It may be the most versatlle casual colour of all time. I am not sure how it started. Is it everyone's love for jeans/denim that makes everything work with it or the fact that it works with everything that made us all love denim? The chicken or the egg? Who knows. Who cares. It is great. Like you said, add an actual pair of jeans, a white shirt, a couple of tees, and most everyone would be set for a casual wardrobe. I think almost the same applies to navy which just exudes a bit more formality/dressing up for when "denim" seems too casual. It is odd how it has altered our brain. Denim blue is such a winner, yet it would/could not ever work as well as dark navy for a more polished, dressed up look. Do you agree?
P.S. Using gold instead of silver accessories would lift denim blue into a more dressy appearance, in my opinion. Janice/Vivienne, you are such an inspiration regardless of what you present. Sometimes the fun begins when you have presented your take on a colour, and we readers get to substitute any of our own personal preferences for the ones you gave us. The first thing I did was use turquoise instead of the pink, and gold instead of the silver but that just makes your posts that much more fun for your readers. I love opening my Vivienne Files each and every day. Very rarely do they not inspire me. Usually by getting my own creative juices going as soon as I have taken in your post. It is the only blog that has that ability to ALWAYS inspire me. I subscribe to several other blogs, and I enjoy them but you inspire me almost each and every time. Thank you!!!
