Someone suggested soft pink and peach in a capsule wardrobe, and described it as feeling like being inside a seashell… HOW was I going to resist that idea?

I think I’ve paired each new top with each of the bottoms from the original neutral wardrobe. I confess that I was getting a little bit muddled, but you get the general idea – there’s everything here from very casual to “nice evening out” dressy. The long cardigan will really only be wearable over your shoulders with the longer skirt, unless you have the hips of a 12-year old boy…

Hmmm, if you wore three of these garments on the plane/in the car/on the train, you could pack 14 pieces, and have about the most gorgeous travel wardrobe imaginable….
Tomorrow, I’m going back into this adventure with “Tuscan accent colors” of deep russet red, olive green and gold… The entire feeling of this is going to change dramatically, and that’s the fun part! Accent colors seems magical in their ability to change the mood of Your Common Wardrobe, don’t they?

This is really lovely, but too pale for me. I can't wait until tomorrow's post. Those are my colors and I think it will be helpful to see them in a summer wardrobe, I always struggle with summer outfits with these colors. Also, thank you for posting earlier in the morning lately. Your blog is the first thing I look at when I sit down with my coffee at 4 am.
I agree with the first commenter's post. I need deep warm to neutral colors and sometimes find this challenging in the summer. Looking forward to tomorrow's post.

So delicate , so lovely for someone with the right coloring –very shell-like ! I would need to add some aqua or pale blue for the yin/yang of color balance. Tomorrow's accents, in medium values , will reflect more "me", so I'm looking forward to that too !
I echo the other bloggers with your site being the first one I search for in the morning. I shall be traveling for close to two weeks, starting Friday , in another country and won't be taking along my Tablet –I shall miss all of your fabulous posts during that time, but shall do a catch up as soon as I return.

I would love to be able to claim that i was up that early, but in fact, Google Blogger lets us schedule our posts ahead of time, so I actually work from about 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a long break in the middle of the day to go to the gym. Some days, when the appropriate items are difficult to find, I've been known to be at my computer until 8 or 9 p.m.
My standards are very high for what I'm willing to share with you all!

Lovely mix of pieces.
I don't know if anyone else has suggested this or not, but I find it easier to find the right pastel for summer by wearing my favorite top to the big box home improvement store & getting a paint chip strip that matches it. The kind where the darkest color is in the top square & the lightest color is on the bottom square. I thrift shop for most of my clothes & this saves me time & money & frustration.
This is such a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing it! Next time I am near a home improvement store, I think I'll be stopping in to get a couple of paint samples.
Love the idea of using paint chip strips to match colors! I would be interested in seeing some of these wardrobes done without wool or cashmere (I am severely allergic to both) as the biggest challenge for me is finding quality and elegant items with absolutely no wool in them.
So very lovely. I waffle between having a tonal wardrobe like this (albeit in my colors) and a pull towards strong CONTRAST.
Lovely – you can have both! I alternate between strong contrasts of black, white and red, and soft tonalities of greys. Just don't get carried away, and make sure that you always look like the very best version of yourself…

You are finding the best earrings ( the Fortunato)!!! These ones are a slightly more reasonable price but are still lovely and so in tune with the feelings of this wardrobe selection. Where shall this ethereal woman travel and with whom? Thank you for being so dedicated and for having high standards. This could look so easy but it isn't.
