(yes, she seriously considered packing the matching leopard shell…) She’s going to have to talk to a wide variety of people, in a WIDE variety of settings. She will certainly see the inside of a conference room, but also the occasional bar stool in a pub, or long walk in a city park…
So she has calm, relaxing blues. Positively aggressive prints. Some warm textured caramel things, and enough basic black to hold it all together!
She can handle whatever’s thrown at her, occasion-wise, with this wardrobe:

I'm intrigued by the necklace you chose with the black dress. I wouldn't have thought to wear black with black. But now I'm thinking, why not, as a way to add texture. Is that something you often do–black on black? Tips for making it work?
I never think about it – the necklace is a different material and different texture to the clothing below it, so it's going to show up and provide some low-key contrast, as well as a bit of movement. For people who don't want a lot of sharp contrasts or to have their jewelry blinging out at people, I think it's a good option!

This is an interesting capsule. I'm cool so they are not my colors. However, I question that baby blue color. I would think a warmer blue (more like the scarf color) would coordinate much better in this capsule and with someone who leans warm.
I was thinking that this was a woman who adhered to neither the warm nor the cool type of wardrobe; she felt more interested in breaching that gap. In real life, you're right that something closer to turquoise might be easier for many women.

I completely agree with Jazz — the versatility of this grouping jumps out at me, and I think the coolness of the blue is just fine with both the black and the camel . I have warm coloring, which sometimes leans toward a neutral personal coloring between warm and cool, so this is the blue that I choose when I want to counterbalance what feels like my overall too warm outfit. It also goes great with that green sweater ! Guess I'm a bit yin yang.
Be still my heart! You found fab prints to combine the caramel and black. Overall this is such a beautiful wardrobe, balanced between warm and cool. A warmer blue would definitely work, but this cool blue is nice, and looking at the painting a very light gray would also be nice. I am cool in coloring, but I do wear some warm colors, mostly away from my face, but not always. I especially love caramel/saddle/cognac (along with teal and plum) which I mix with black and other cool colors in my closet. My theory is that if I'm drawn to a color I'm going to find a way to incorporate it. – nancyo

I am also finding that some cool colours integrate well into a warm-coloured wardrobe. This soft blue is particularly good – I recently ordered the L.L. Bean cable-knit roll-kneck jumper that you showed some posts ago, and it seems to be wearable with everything. I'm hoping for a summer chambray tunic in coming months.
And for a wee pop of surprise, a cool jewel accent colour with an otherwise warm outfit – teal, light blue, purple, etc. – can look terrific.
I like it that our heroine has a practical approach to her packing as well as to her mission. May she succeed for all of us!

What a versatile mix! I wasn't sure about that light blue but it looks great! Love that camel and black print blouse! Anything leopard is always a hit with me too. I don't know if I can wear that green but I'm going to check it out!I have seen a lot of green this Fall. Thanks for all you do Janice!
