Mental Health Break
It sounds terribly dramatic, but she really just wants to see her toes… with polish, if possible!
So a long weekend away, at a very un-chic beach. Renting a very un-chic suite with a kitchenette…She wants to wear something on her lips that isn’t Carmex or ChapStick…
She doesn’t want to “dine.” She wants to walk, on sand, maybe in her bare feet!
She wants to carry a tote bag with a snack, something upon which to sit, and maybe a book.
She wants to sleep with the window open. She wants to take a nap – maybe outdoors!
Evenings might be quite cool. She’ll stay in, eat take-out, and read. She’ll make her own coffee and toast in the mornings, and watch the sun rise…
She’s almost excited to shave her legs – she hasn’t done so since Thanksgiving!
love,
Janice

What an excellent idea including the RV values. I wish every online retailer included them as I like to know exactly what shade of a colour I am purchasing. It was a slow news day here in New Zealand and one of the major newspapers published an article about a woman's frustration at being unable to get a refund when the two items of white clothing she purchased were very different shades that didn't play well together.

I heartily agree! This would make shopping online so much easier

Lovely colors!

The colors shown are the ones taken from the velvet swatch;there's never a guarantee that clothes will match. It's probably the hardest part of writing The Vivienne Files!

That is my kind of mental health break lol. I have two monitors sitting side by side and it always amazes me how different the colors show up on the two screens. I'm thinking I don't see olive, I see brown and then I look at the smaller screen and there is the olive lol. :)

"RV values" What? Where? Please explain. Gail
Kathy Acosta says
Gail, I am not sure about the term "RV Values," but in the picture you may see above that has the caption "Like the article? Save it to Pinterest!" there are numbers (one is cb5a70) in the colored circles that show the colors Janice used in creating this wardrobe. The "cb5a70" and the other two numbers are called hexadecimal numbers and are used to specify colors on websites. It is a way of indicating precisely what the color is supposed to be. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Kathy. Now I see where the numbers are! Gail

Yes, that velvet exhibit at the Art Institute is fabulous, isn't it? Love the colors for this wardrobe, because the pink is rich, not babyish. The trench reminds me of a much-loved trench I owned in the 80's, in a similar shade of green.

It would be fascinating to see how this same luxurious velvet fabric could be the inspiration for a dazzling and dining winter travel wardrobe…

That fabric is fabulous and I would love to be able to see it up close and toudh it!! Wouldn't it make the best dramatic hooded cape? I have that LL bean skort and find it very comfortable and "decent" for an older woman. Love the Marant trenchcoat too!!!

Love this post! Ivory and olive are my two main neutrals. This gives me a lot of ideas. Thanks!

An alternative to LL Bean would be welcome these days.
