You ask, you get! Tomorrow I’m going to expand this into a wardrobe for a longer trip…
please note that this scarf is a pocket square. it’s MUCH smaller than a normal Hermes scarf, so don’t order it thinking that you’re getting an amazing deal, and then be crushed…
You Won’t BELIEVE What Corporate Did…
her heart always sinks when her sweetheart start a conversation like this…
“They’re having the Holiday Party in NEW YORK!!!”
“So does this mean we don’t have to go?” fingers crossed…
“Quite the contrary – that’s what’s SO amazing! They’re flying us all out – you included! – putting us up in a hotel AND giving us spending money!”
can we just have them give us cash instead? whoops, wrong thing to say…
“That’s wonderful – you must have really had a great year…”
“So, for the days off, do we have to go do corporate functions with your co-workers? I’m not going to be “escaping from a room” or taking a group cooking class, am I?”
“Nope – our free time is all ours!”
She’s feeling much better about the whole affair…
After living through all kinds of holiday “events” that didn’t really live up to expectations, she thinks she can handle this one just fine!

Janice

The yellow certainly throws an interesting twist into the classic red, black and grey mix.

But where's the pocket for the pocket square?
Janice Riggs says
I couldn't find anything with a great pocket – she's going to have to "kerchief" this wee beauty!

..or tie it around her purse.

So Christmassy as well as perfect for N.Y.. Your heroine is one lucky lady. I'm guessing the EF dress would probably be popped on for dinner after Sunday's sightseeing, styled with the Hermes neckerchief again for a hint of Christmas. Hugs, x.

That black dress can do anything – I have one very similar and I can vouch for how versatile it is!

I love it! It was great to see you take a scarf I liked and build it out. I loved the gray and black sweater.

Any time you see a scarf, or painting, or photograph, that you like, send it on to me! [email protected]. I can't promise to get to everything that I receive, but I'll die trying!

Great post as usual and very apt as I just experienced a similar situation – minus the spending money – an invitation to a festive corporate dinner in a ski resort which was a short flight away. My wardrobe was rather lacklustre but now I'll be ready for next year's event wherever that might be.

Thank you for this lovely wardrobe, as you always do provide!
I think it's worth noting that the background patterns for the scarf, which are a big part of its beauty, are traditional Kyrgyz patterns. I don't know if Hermes has acknowledged their use of these designs.
Janice Riggs says
In their little booklets that they give out to customers, Hermes often mentions all of the design elements that the incorporate into the scarves. I haven't see the booklet for this season, but I wouldn't be surprised if they mention it. The designs really do make the scarf, don't they?

Janice

I am loving that red dress! The link says that the dress is shipped from the UK but the sizing on the site is US sizing. So I should order my normal size and they will do the conversion and send me a dress in the equivalent UK size?
Janice Riggs says
They'll send you the right size – they do a LOT of shipping to the US.

Janice

I love having the pantone matching system.

I actually have a consultant who makes the Pinterest gizmos for me – I'll let her know that you like this!

Ah, love this scarf. Thanks for tackling a 6 pack based on it! While I won't be buying the pocket square, I'll be using it for some wardrobe inspiration. – nancyo
