Assertiveness, Channeled
“Why is SHE going?”
“Well, she was just named chief negotiator – didn’t you hear?”
“She IS? She always seems so… ladylike… I don’t see her as the arm-wrestling for the last dime kind of negotiator…”
“Don’t get me wrong – I know that she’s as smart as a whip…”
“Shouldn’t she be wearing some serious pantsuit with shoulders out to HERE?”
“She doesn’t even wear blazers!!!”
always trust the jealous rivals to focus on how you dress, eh?
As in all things, the details matter…
If anybody ever troubled to look, they would see that her jewelry looks like the weapons and body-armor of a Barbie-sized warrior race… Even her oh-so-trendy flower brooch is black! She channels her aggression very carefully…
yes, her clutch bag looks like a poison bottle…
love,
Janice

This capsule demonstrates the power of the strong primary colours primarily used in the shields of old.
A very striking wardrobe. however, I've been noticing a shift in the colours that I wear from the strong clear reds to the slightly more muted tones which I also see in this art work. Might she be interested in these tones for her after work wear?

What a clever way to bring a bit of Goth into sophisticated adulthood.
This is lovely.

Lovely capsule, but I see more grayed tones of the colors on my monitor which is good for me. I would tweak the brights slightly.
Janice Riggs says
The colors in the painting are actually rather bright, but they've been painted over with the darker colors so they appear more muted. So it's a question – do I go with the visible color or the original paint color? The visible color would be my preference, if I could FIND them… When I revisit this painting each quarter, I will try again to find the muted colors. Maybe the grey and bone colors will make an appearance!

Janice

Yes, I know the difficulty with finding the “just right” toned down colors. I lean slightly soft in predominantly cool coloring, but have to steer clear of the too grayed muddy hues as well as the too cool hues. There is always a trade off.

Do you ever find wardrobes — or even outfits — for non-traditional sizes, like petite or plus-size? I'm loving that 3/4 sleeve matte jersey dress, but Land's End does not offer in 16P petite.

Where do I start? I just love how this small capsule oozes inner power and confidence. This delightful little wardrobe is a wonderful example of self expression and personality shining through brilliantly. Embracing the warrior within is a theme that appeals to me. It makes me smile just imagining how much fun our heroine must have shopping for and wearing her accessories.

HA!!! I definitely went back for a double take on the jewelry. :) Thanks for that, I love your wit. Also love that tweed skirt.

perhaps you could label sweaters, it is hard to tell in the picture if it is a v neck or crew neck…it would be helpful.

LOVE THIS AND HER….is she management or union?
Janice Riggs says
She was union, now she's pro-union manage. Truly a rare bird!
