If all goes as planned, I will be in Ireland when you read this!
Let’s look for a moment at this quintessential summery painting:
When we last visited this heroine, her 20-piece wardrobe looked pretty great – this is another one of those collections with which one could travel for a really long time!
This heroine is SO ready to be outdoors, but she’s also smart enough to realize that it’s not all that warm, yet. A sweatshirt is always handy, and a long-sleeved shirt is almost 12 month clothing. Sleeves can be rolled!
And is the bracelet perfect for her?
Green onyx earrings – Monica Vinader; bracelets – Chico’s; green shirt – Alex Mill; sweatshirt – Alex Mill; shorts – Eileen Fisher; blue cotton gauze top – Caslon; sandals – Aquatalia
Her 24-piece wardrobe feel exactly the same. More garments, more functional, but the same personal style!
And her accessories are – as is true of most accessory families – delicious.
Her Weekly Timeless Wardrobe is pretty complete for Spring; I’m sure that we can take care of much of that next month:
She’s got an abundance of new outfits with her four new garments. This should always be the feeling when you shop!
Just chuck all of this into a bag and head for a place of sun, water, and greenery!
love,
Janice

This wardrobe just oozes sun, sea and fresh air We are going to have a mini heatwave in the UK next week. I hope it extends its reach to Ireland. 27C is forecast for the middle of next week in southern England and 24C in the north. Phew!
So this is weird, I’m not loving the warm and cool tones together. I know I have both warm and cool in my closet, but seeing them side by side doesn’t do it for me. I like the colors and the wardrobe, just not the visual of them all together. Jheez. Hope you had a safe flight and enjoy your time! Thanks for putting all these together for us before you left!
Sheila I would love to know which pieces you are referencing. It all looks quite cool to me with the exception of the truer green pieces and a couple of the beige pieces.
But I might put up with the green in order to wear the striped green and white flats!
I originally thought I would love this color scheme, but the Magill has my heart. I love the pinks of the Magill and substitute navy for the gray. I think this painting is lovely, but the warmer khaki may be affecting my perception of it. I have toyed with adding some green to my closet, but am pretty content with what I have, so I bought new summer pajamas in green and am quite happy with the addition. Might I add, that selecting PJs in a new color might be a good way for others to experiment with their palette.
Have a wonderful trip!!
I love this suggestion! I will sometimes use underpinnings to have colors that I love but dont love me back – a little bit of fashion defiance! PJs are a great way to evaluate if you like a color for sure!
Happy Friday all.
Love the colors and the style. Rather Coastal Grandma style, which I like. And I like the new green. While I wouldn’t wear the green and teal together, I would enjoy wearing the new tops with any of the other pieces.
This is my favorite, I’ll take it! :)
Sandy it does have that coastal grandma vibe! This is still my favourite of all these groupings. I am not sure about this particular shade of green, it may just be my screen, but I would probably go with a kelly green for myself. These wardrobes are so inspiring as I am still having a hard time dressing in a more casual vibe since retiring.
Hope you are having a fabulous trip Janice and thank you for thinking of us.
Of all the wardrobes I think throw in a dress that the green and white flats looks great with and this would take you MANY places. I could travel almost anywhere for a good long time. It is cohesive and when we travel we do lots of walking and sightseeing and all of these clothes lend themselves to that. Tons of layering possibilities. Shoes you can walk in and swap around. I try to alternate so my feet get a break. All that being said I never travel with this much! Maybe if one was moving someplace for a season?
We do lots of walking when we travel too. I agree with adding a dress and for me, even in the spring, I need shorts and skorts. All these short sleeve tops are great to see. For the past month I’ve been wearing shorts/skort and a simple top. Summer is real here! And it lasts forever or feels like it!
A while back someone commented that skorts are so juvenile. Mine look just like a skirt with shorts underneath. Which is a good thing because sometimes I don’t act my age (particularly when the grands come around) and I don’t sit perfectly like a lady or bend down completely discreetly or stand completely erect and I need a little extra coverage. I like mine about 2” above my knee, light denim type fabric, and will get more when I find them.
I love this. For myself, it’s funny but I would swap striped flats for navy ones and the navy tops for striped ones!
As Sandy called it, the coastal granny style is right up my alley, although I’m not a grandma nor live by the coast!
Janice, hope you enjoy every bit!
I love the colours of this wardrobe – and the painting. But overall it isn’t really working for me. Rather than unique functional pieces, this wardrobe has a feeling for me of the same piece just bought over and over. And while I think the accessories are lovely – and the silk scarves in particular – the play between the fancier jewelery and the silk and the smooth leather doesn’t all play that well together to my eye. For me, some of the other wardrobes are just coming together more successfully despite the fact that at the beginning of the year this was a favourite colour scheme. Still, half a year to go and Janice always has some surprises.
These are beautiful sea colors.
As an afterthought, I would also add a little of the pale yellow near the sun..
Sure hope you are in Ireland having a grand time!!! Thanks for all you for us blog readers, Janice!! Enjoy all the beauty.
