Sometimes, you see something that just makes you happy. If you keep thinking about that thing… six hours later?… you might want to listen to your heart!
That’s my feeling about this scarf; the minute I saw this, I knew I wanted to share it with you all here:
What an interesting image – dill? Some sparse hydrangeas? And artichokes? What do you think?
Of course, these colors are difficult to find…
Our heroine knows that she’s going to struggle to find the soft accent colors – the green and purple are QUITE elusive. But she also knows that she can wear this scarf with her neutral grey, or she could look for a different green like soft olive. Or use beige as her neutral. There are always possibilities!
She assembles three outfits, and then adds a few more garments – a pretty effective way to pack:
Dressy-ish. The usefulness of a chambray shirt is hard to describe!
Jeans can be luxurious with a cashmere sweatshirt! The best of both worlds…
After searching high and low, she found a tee shirt that’s a good mate for her scarf, and a cardigan too! A nice neutral tee shirt, another scarf (although you CAN wear the same scarf every day – there are no rules about these things!), and some pretty earrings:
It’s a pretty complete travel capsule wardrobe – which surprises her, given how hard she had to look for just the right things to include!
Of course she has outfits – that’s how she chosen her garments! But she likes to make certain that she can assemble things differently, if she’s so inclined…
Any time you can use denim in your travel capsule wardrobe, things are automatically easier. It’s like packing magic…
love,
Janice
p.s. Ten years ago, we shared one of my favorite, REALLY elegant long weekend wardrobes in camel and burgundy; it’s ten years old, but I would still wear it in a New York minute!

Not my usual colours but I so love this scarf – you’ve really nailed the capsule to wear with it ! The mulberry T-shirt is perfect 😍

I love everything about this one! The colors and styles. The scarf is fantastic.

This capsule is so cozy and relaxing! I would wear the heck out of this!

Even if the colors in the scarf are hard to find, you’ve adapted what’s available perfectly. The scarf won’t got out of style or stop fitting if she loses or gains eight. And color trends come and go.
I love all the styles you’ve found.

What a soft and lovely palette! I’m attracted to the art of this pretty scarf, especially the artichokes. How architectural and what amazing lines!
I do tend to be a bit of a magpie in my own color choices—I like bright colors and shiny things. But, this is a lovely compilation of a quiet and gentle overview for casual living.

Not my colors but I absolutely love it. My kind of casual dressing. The colors are beautiful. I can only image how challenging they were to find.

This is a lovely combination. If I could wear these colors, I would attempt to buy every single piece! It gives me some wonderful ideas for my warmer color palette, for example, the idea of adding a grey top of some sort with the apricot/rust, olive and golden khaki I usually wear. Thank you for the idea.

Love the colours, love the clothes …

This is beautiful, so wearable and the colours are singing my song. I’ve never owned cashmere but would love to try it.

Look for a used sweater – ThredUp, Ebay, and Eileen Fisher all have tons of older sweaters. They’re possibly going to be a nicer grade of cashmere than the newer sweaters that are relatively inexpensive, but thin as cheesecloth!

Janice

Hope your days in Paris are full of fun and adventure and those ouchy ribs aren’t giving you any trouble.

Ooooh … I could wear this wardrobe forever.

beautiful soft colors and so harmonious. I love it.

Delectable. I can wear these colours a lot of the time – my ‘go too’ colours on days when I don’t want to have to try too hard but, blended well, still make a statement. I always feel ‘put together’ in these colours. Stressless dressing.

Very helpful as I am packing. For a visit with hiking, cooking, very sorry normal visit plus 3 celebration dinners. The skirt looks s going to get a lot of work.

I can attest to the usefulness of the cashmere hoodie. I have one in a cream cable knit and I’ve worn the heck out of it for years! It’s a great accent piece beyond just a basic pullover sweater, and is also wonderful to layer under and over other things when it gets really cold.

I’ve yet to see an Artifact scarf I don’t love, but this one may be my favorite!
As we all play along with the year-long Six Scarves wardrobe building posts I will be using this scarf as my personal inspiration. Never been more excited to create a new wardrobe from scratch and this is the year to do it. My hair is now fully gone to a silvery gray, I’ve dropped 15 pounds, and I’m embracing a more casual, comfortable style of work-from-home dressing. Looking forward to adding new pieces each month to create my “just right wardrobe.” This is going to be fun!
