Remember this lovely swimsuit from two weeks ago? I left us hanging, with lots of lovely clothes but NO accessories!
Our heroine’s very pretty, feminine and summery wardrobe was this:
gauze shirt – L.L.Bean; short-sleeved gauze top – L.L.Bean; tank top – L.L.Bean; gauze pants – L.L.Bean; Shell pink linen shirt – L.L.Bean; pale rose tee – L.L.Bean; rose shadow jeans – L.L.Bean; cardigan – & Other Stories; Peach tee shirt – L.L.Bean; sweet mango floral shirt – Lands’ End; gauze dress – L.L.Bean; denim shorts – Lands’ End; rose tee shirt – Design by Hümans; light peach sweater – J.Crew; skirt – Mango; Dress – Verlinne
I’m going to take a handful of outfits and accessorize them – I think that should get us everything we need!
For warm weather, don’t ever forget sunglasses and a good hat – you don’t want to be one of us who have to have wee chunks chopped out of our scalp in our mature years…
Just for fun, I’ve been thinking that this heroine might be heading out for a Valentine’s Day vacation; this might inspire a few of her choices!
When she gathers up all of her accessories, this is the absolutely lovely assortment that she has!
Yes, she probably will toss a pair of white sneakers into her bag – or a pair of “water shoes,” if they’re going somewhere beachy…
And just in case you’re one to augment your swimsuit wardrobe with some extra pieces, here are a few things I found that would be perfect for this heroine:
Sunset ombre one-piece suit – Lands’ End; ombre coverup – Lands’ End; floral swimsuit – L.L.Bean x Summersalt; coral bisque swimshirt – L.L.Bean
It’s particularly nice to look at all of this today, while we’re preparing for a gigantic snowstorm tomorrow! Although I’m pretty skeptical about snow warnings these days – they don’t seem to materialize the way I would wish…
love,
Janice
p.s. Ten years ago, we considered the possibilities for a pair of leopard flats!
p.p.s. Yesterday, when I was resting all day with a touch of something (maybe flu?), I read Last Train to Paris by Michele Zackheim. I know I’m in a pretty deep World War 2 rut, but this novel was quite enjoyable…

Oh. My. Goodness. Thank you, first of all, for featuring my bathing suit again. Secondly, I am just in love with these accessories. I’m particularly drawn to all pairs of earrings here—the Ibiza Flower ones are among the prettiest I’ve ever seen. I wish they were a wee bit smaller…if they were I’d order them in a snap. I also adore the sunhat. I am at the beach all summer long—and I have never even considered a white hat. Duh! This will be ‘added to cart’.
This is just beautiful! I am dreaming of my vacation in April, as well as long summer days on Casco Bay.
Also, I forgot to mention that I purchased the tee with roses and it is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for linking it for purchase. I can’t wait to wear it!
That tee is lovely!
If any one knows – the Summersalt swimsuits lack support in the chest area, sometimes they even lack extra lining there. Does any one know if this collaboration with LL Bean is the same? LL Bean swimsuits are typically pretty well constructed in the chest area, so I am wondering.
Love today’s post and especially the dressier ones. Always looking for inspiration for church outfits.
Such a cheery fantasy on a cold and rainy morning! As Ellen noted, the earrings are lovely!
These accessory posts are my favorites, probably because that is one area of my wardrobe I need to work on. This one is stunning! BTW, I am sitting by my bay window with a mug of coffee enjoying one of the most gorgeous snow falls I’ve seen in a while. It is truly a “fairy dust” winter wonderland here in Northern Kentucky. I hope you receive a similar fate.
As one of those who had the chunk out of her scalp, thank you for reminding us to wear hats. I have quite a selection now. Can’t put sunblock on your scalp.
Actually they make a spray on one that my husband and I both use. It’s for your scalp. We also wear hats. Maybe overkill but we live where there is a lot of sun.
Sorry to hear about the chunks taken out of your scalp. Living Down Under, I have about 6 or 7 hats in different colours to co-ordinate with what I am wearing. No skimping! I also have one ‘good’ sunhat in white.
Those leaf earrings took my breath away. I agree with all that it is lovely to look at this when we are still in the dead of winter with so much snow on the way. We can dream of sunnier days that we can spend on the beach wearing our hats (I have many).
The accessories are the icing on the cake of the outfit.
That I should also pay more attention.
I not only have a few summer straw hats 👒,
but also a considerable number of knitted hats. 🧶
Lots of thoughts today. These colors are lovely and soooo different from those of the Six Paintings series. After analyzing the this years series, I think half of the paintings are very similar in predominate colors, ie blue and green. Different intensities and clarities, but basically blue and green. Am I the only one that sees this? I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable your accessory choices are here. Thank you for that! Also, I do not own a swimsuit, nor would I wear one. Too self conscious for that.
These blush-y/sunrise colors are just gorgeous. And I’d happily add those leaf earrings to my wardrobe!
