Sometimes, something is just cheerful…
She’s going away for a long weekend for a VERY happy occasion; she knows that she will want to wear her favorite bright accents, so she starts with her new favorite scarf!
As with so many trips we take to attend an event, we’re never quite sure what we should wear! But if we travel with love and a good heart, everything will work out…
Our heroine likes to wear navy with her bright accents, so her travel outfit falls into place with a bit of fun and a great deal of comfort:
Since she’s not certain of what the level of dressy is going to be, she provides herself with a wide range of options – a dressy dress, a more classic dress to dress up or down, and cropped pants in a snappy color with matching cardigan!
If you’re not in a good mood before you start packing, you certainly should be after all of THIS is in your bag:
If she arrives and finds out that there’s a black-tie event, she’s NOT ready! But pretty much anything short of that will find her looking beautiful and having fun…
Graduation? First Communion? Baptism? Bris? So many events that come up this time of year, and our heroine is ready for all of them!
love,
Janice
p.s. Ten years ago, Belovedest and I had traveled to Paris for our 10th anniversary… This post tells you about some of the lovely meals we shared!

This is an incredibly pretty and colorful scarf and the outfits you paired it with are so cute and versatile. I can see myself wearing this scarf with several ways you show. This is a cheerfully pretty design with lovely color !!!

Gosh this is pretty. Although I haven’t worn yellow in a couple of years these pieces are awfully tempting. I prefer this wardrobe with some of the more casual pieces over the one on Friday that was more dressy. Thank you Janice.

Switch out all the yellow for turquoise and I would pack this for anything coming up this year. Beautiful choices.

What a gorgeous scarf and capsule. The bright cardigan, belt and shoes just liven things up. Striped tees!!! And, you can go a lot of miles in a classic shirt dress. 😍
His could be expanded to cover an entire year.

Janice, Happy Anniversary!

Janice,
I am loving all of the color combination options here ! So glad to see you back — I hope all has settled down !

Now this is my type of capsule – no black in sight and plenty of bright colors! I feel there’s one glaring hole, though. If the occasion calls for wearing the beautiful “dressy” dress and she’s feeling somewhat chilly, what can she use to cover her arms? Maybe she never has that issue but I know I do!

With the pink shoes… the pink cardigan? It is a bit every day and not a wow piece but will serve it’s purpose when needed and also let her dress shine
Linda says
If traveling and not warned about the black tie event I’d be comfortable wearing the turquoise dress, my husband on the other hand *!*?

I love how pretty and fun this is. Very springy/summery! That clutch is perfect and what fun pink shoes. I agree with Linda , surely you would have advance warning about black tie. When I saw that scarf I hoped you would use it. Have a wonderful Monday everyone.

This was a lovely and cheerful wardrobe. And congratulations on your 20th anniversary this year! What a wonderful milestone.

Happy Anniversary! I love these colors!!! I definitely have these in my closet and could pull together something like this (well not the dressy dress, but the rest!). Now I just need a vacation to take them on. :)

Happy Anniversary! What a lovely, bright wardrobe, and such a beautiful scarf.
Love all of it. Wish i could wear yellow, but it makes me look sallow, so maybe use it as a bottom colour only for me 😂

Beautiful, versatile, and fun. I really love the pink shoes and the clutch. And that pink belt! Ooh how nice.
You’re right, the clothes will cover an enormous number of occasions. I wouldn’t mind seeing this expanded into a seasonal capsule. The scarf already contains all of my summer colours and navy is my summer neutral.
Happy Anniversary as well.

These last two posts are just beautiful! For this one I would swap the navy sandals for golden ones. I’m not a fan of colored bottoms, but all his hangs so well that I would take it!
Happy anniversary and I’m glad you’re back, meaning things are settling 💕💕.
Cheers and blessings!

Love, love, love! This is inspiring me for when I travel to Pennsylvania in June for my daughter-in-law’s bridal shower.

This is such a simply elegant wardrobe with lots of options for different activities – sightseeing, a party, a long walk (though I would need lace-ups rather than slip-ons. I love the rose-violet and turquoise accents with the navy. I could go a long way with those three colours.

I love this whole capsule

Thank you for this cheerful capsule. Thank goodness the Kenneth Cole hot pink metallic ballet flats aren’t available in my size. (Strange that none of the colors seem to be available in 8.5, though other half sizes are listed.)
Carol says
Hah! Just noticed that the palette is pretty darn close to the Fair Isle yoke of the sweater I’m wearing in my photo (made from a Knit Picks kit).
