OH dear! I’m supposed to be working on the “Six Paintings, Six Wardrobes” posts today! But once I saw that Shepard Fairey had done a scarf for Echo, I was thoroughly distracted… You know his art; remember the Obama posters from way back when…
This nice thing about scarves (well, one of the many nice things about scarves!) is that even if you don’t much love the image when the scarf is flat, nobody but you will probably EVER see the scarf spread out and fully visible…
Our heroine today is one of us who mostly loves to wear neutrals – especially black and beige! But she’s going to be attending a couple of “medium dressy” events this winter (some including children), and she needs to maybe brighten up her look a bit. It does get tiring when people repeated ask you if you’re depressed…
But she can travel in her comfort zone, at least!
She ponders, and studies her scarf, and then she packs these six garments, with a few glorious accessories…
I love the idea of showing up at a holiday event wearing orange! Talk about breaking the mold…
Lying in bed last night, I realized that these 8 garments give our heroine at least 14 different possible outfits, depending on if it’s cold enough to want a tee shirt under a sweater…
Actually, if it was REALLY cold, she could wear her tee shirt, her striped shirt, and a sweater or a vest… More possibilities!
I would have to swap out the orange sweater for a different accent color, but I would otherwise be perfectly happy to head for the hills for about a month with this wardrobe…
love,
Janice
p.s. Ten years ago, our heroine packed for a long weekend in olive and grey! My, how my style has and yet hasn’t changed….

The pretty little clutch is not to be found. And it was the only purse in this wardrobe. A while back you included several purses in a travel wardrobe, and I learned a lot from that. Small purses really don’t take up much room in a suitcase and yet they can give a lot of personality to an outfit. Over Thanksgiving I spent a week in the mountains, a variety of
activities and enjoyed having several
purses to chose from. Well, that is just my middle of the night musing. Thanks, Janice, for all your creativity.

To me the sweater isnt orange but more of a yellow tone

Yeah, looks mustard yellow to me. But I guess there will always be colour differences when viewed on different screens.
Though I did wonder about the large blue rectangle in the colour wheel when it was nowhere to be found in the items chosen. Oh well, nothing wrong with discarding an initial idea.

Looks like your Wolf & Badger links aren’t working – both the clutch & the earrings are returning “not founds”. Interestingly, on my monitor the sweater is also mustard, although it shows orange on the shop site.
With that said, I hunted down the bag because it was so very outstanding with this wardrobe! It’s the Clifton Clutch on the SJW bags site. 😊. And you’ve inspired me to pull out a corsage brooch that’s been lurking in the drawer…

Happily enough for both of the designers, they have launched their own websites as of this morning! I guess that’s the dream for anybody making beautiful things, right?
I’ve updated both of the links so you can still find the earrings, and the bag. Thanks, as always, for letting me know!
hugs,
Janice

I love the inclusion of the checked shirt and a few more styling ideas for it.

Morning, I also see it as yellow. However, having recently received a yarn order where a couple of the colors did not look in real life as they did on my screen I do know that screen colors aren’t always true. I knew as soon as I saw that scarf in my Echo email that you would run with it. Certainly did not disappoint. Happy Friday everyone!

This is great! I would wear every single one of those outfits for a Christmas party, and I would go right up to any woman wearing that yellow sweater and carrying that clutch and tell her how much I loved her outfit. I bet you meet more people if you wear yellow.

I love the olive and grey items from 10 years ago!

I am loving Echo’s 100 Scarves project. I really hope I don’t find a scarf I have to have. It’s not really in the budget and the scarf size is too big for my comfort.
Janice says
Oh, I’ve not got TWO OF THEM. SO FAR. I’m going to weed out some of my other scarves and sell them to make (mental) space!
Shepard Fairey was a given – I was going to buy it, no matter WHAT it looked like…
hugs,
Janice

Just great! Right up my color alley!

oh, I like to wear curry in autumn and winter.
Yesterday I wore gray and olive for my wedding anniversary.
I’m looking forward to the monthly selection.

Did you notice the jacket is reversible? That is a good idea if you are travelling and would like a few more looks!
