Today’s heroines are all going to be doing something for the upcoming winter holidays – nothing overwhelmingly dressy, just events for which they wish to look nice…
And they don’t want to wear the traditional colors that everyone else will be wearing! Blending in with the crowd just doesn’t suit these heroines that well!
So let’s start with more lovely scarves:
Our first heroine is particularly smitten with this scarf for lots of reasons, but especially because it includes brown, which is her #1 favorite neutral!
So these are the colors that she isolates from this scarf – she could have chosen at least 3 more that I can see…
This little cluster delights her – she’s got Christmas red and Christmas green! But still she has her core of brown, that helps her feel like her!
For spring, she’s going to find something in that orchid purple, or exhaust herself looking…
This next scarf is quite traditional – except for the snake! But the colors are lovely…
This heroine considered including the lovely dark coral in her current palette, but instead chose the muted peach. NOBODY wears peach for the winter holidays… Well, almost nobody…
She loves that she can bundle up nice and warm for the upcoming events on her calendar; she seems to always be invited to things that spill out onto the deck/patio/back yard. In December. In North Dakota!
And our third heroine of the day is perfectly happy to start with a black velvet column of clothing, but she is NOT going to accent it with red or green! Well, not pine tree green, at least.
These colors will stand out in any crowd:
The black pieces are SO classic – truly timeless! But when accented with yellow, or bright pink, they’re a whole new story… And the bag was impossible to resist…
We’re going to have the pleasure of looking at lots more wee wardrobe clusters – Echo has released a whole bunch of new scarves! They are always worth visiting and revisiting, just to enjoy the amazing range of styles and creativity on display.
love,
Janice

The multi- colored handbag really is irresistible. You find the best accessories.

I agree that rainbow bag is amazeballs. I quite like both the 1st and the 2nd scarves. I’m not sure about either the red or pink colors though (for me). On my screen and to my eyes the first one seems more fuchsia, and even if it were red I’m not sure I would wear it with the brown and/or green. For the 2nd scarf, I would need to pick up the brighter coral rather than the pale pink which would wash me out. It could live quite happily with all my navy neutrals though. I do still really love the gray and navy crane scarf from the other day. The deer in today’s first scarf are really appealing to me though. My son said on his way home the other day he saw a family (?) of six deer quite happily munching on the neighbor’s garden. Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving if you celebrate. Son suggested I wait on buying laptop no matter how good the deal on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but for the after Christmas Sales when they have their “true” clearances. Just sayin’

Love the Alexandra Gallagher scarf. And that muted pink, I’d happily wear that for a monochromatic outfit. Nice for a summer Christmas 😎

I’m not sure that I would wear the first two outfits for anything other than a walk. They are a bit cuddly cosy for a party. Even an informal party needs a bit of ‘sparkle and shine’.
The first scarf is a tricky colour way. I can’t imagine wearing that combination of colours. Perhaps it’s a scarf to jazz up a plain green top or dress. You could wear it against fuschia pink too. Brown and red are too far out.
I like the second scarf but the darker pink would be the accent colour that I’d go for. It does seem a bit spring like though.
The third outfit is great – velvet, a jazzy bag and lovely shoes. Perfect for a party. I wear pastels in winter because they brighten up the dark days.

I love all your ideas. Especially the column of colour, second the three tops, I used this in Europe recently when we went on the Danube and it worked like a dream. I travel quite a bit and always wear a skirt or dress, especially on a plane. Please could you make us a new travel page with skirts and dresses for a week. Blue is my best colour. I am in my seventies.
Thanks
