In case you haven’t heard, Echo is producing a series of 100 scarves, designed by 100 different artistic, wonderful people… Only 100 of each scarf is available, and all of the profits are being donated to charity!
fwiw, I don’t even get a commission on these scarves, but that’s all good – anything for charities AND featuring artists is a mission for me!
I’m going to share them all, and show how I might wear each of them…
When you’re considering the purchase of a scarf, thinking about what you’re going to wear with your new treasure is only logical; buying a scarf that goes with NOTHING you own might be a lovely gesture, but it’s not really practical…
Let’s go!
There are – of course – more colors in these scarves that I will show in a color palette, but it’s logical to start somewhere… Nope, not just logical – ESSENTIAL!
When I found the handbag, I kind of knew that this outfit was going to be dressy, in a “bold color” sort of fashion…
Do you like a whole bunch of earth tones mixed with black?
OH so many color possibilities here…
Sometimes, when I want the scarf to be the center of attention in an outfit, I will stick with lovely neutrals for everything else…
Okay all you “autumn” people – here’s your perfect scarf!
And such possibilities – between olive green and brown, you could have so much fun…
An outfit in the subtlest colors, brightened irresistibly with the scarf, and the best handbag…
We all know someone for whom this is the perfect scarf – and it might not be a woman! Nobody ever made a rule that said that only women can wear silk scarves, right?
I skipped over a bunch of colors in the scarf – there are so many choices!
And then I ignored my own color palette, and added red! There are no rules, remember…
Black and white, with brown and shades of red – this could be your life-long wardrobe palette…
One could easily build an entire wardrobe…
Sigh… I love brown….
Today’s last scarf is this jazzy beauty, which looks color-blocked when folded and tied… Such excellent colors!
The accent colors can’t be found just anywhere, but they’re worth seeking out!
We understand that one can wear white pants any time of year, right?
And while I don’t imagine that any of us will actually BUY this handbag, I couldn’t resist including it…
There will be another six scarves on Monday, and then whenever Echo introduces some more designs, I will revisit them, and some outfit ideas.
love,
Janice
p.s. Six years ago, we experimented with wearing warm accents with cool colors!

I like the more neutral 2nd palette and the fall palette the best. I did look at the fall tree scarf when I saw it a couple of weeks ago, but wasn’t quite sure I had enough to go with it. Maybe I should rethink that! I also find the brown sweater with the red pants very intriguing. Have a great weekend everyone!

What an amazingly wonderful Echo project, and you did an amazingly wonderful crafting of wardrobe uses. I look forward to seeing more!

Oh my! These scarves are all stunning. Your selections to go with them are perfect.
I do love the red and brown together. I have the most beautiful red sleeveless V- neck top from Kettlewell I’ve been wearing with chocolate brown and it looks and feels amazing. It will be exciting to see the upcoming Echo scarves.

What fabulous fun! I have many, many scarves (many!). I most often purchase them on a whim, rather than to coordinate with any particular outfit. The fun in that is that I often choose my entire outfit for the day, based on that ONE scarf that pleases me…that day. Owning one if these really would be “wearing art”. Your knowledge of art, artists, and color is amazing and inspiring, I look forward to seeing your posts in my inbox, thanks for what you do.

I’ve been visiting the Echo 100 site and looking at the scarves. I am thinking long and hard about that Sophie Bolvary scarf. These outfits are all beautiful with the scarves….great job Janice! I did just buy a silk Echo scarf on a resale site. It’s got mistletoe all over it. I can’t wait to wear it for the holidays.

All of these outfits are absolutely stunning and just gorgeous. I love seeing the scarves folded as they will be worn. So very helpful in visualizing how the colors will fall into place.
Great post and I can’t wait to see more!

None of these particular scarves spoke to me, but I do LOVE an orange, bright pink, and black outfit, so the first one with the rich textures and the absolutely luscious accessories is a prize!
This was an interesting case in which I liked all 6 scarves much better in their “folded around” version than laid out flat. Sometimes it’s the opposite. I appreciate that you are showing both of these views in the posts to make it easier to visualize how the scarf may look when worn as well as laid out flat like a painting. If a person is considering a $200 scarf purchase (no matter how laudable the charitable cause), they need to like how it looks in from all perspectives.

It’s interesting how much a scarf might appeal when it’s flat, and you can see and appreciate the images, but then when you fold it you struggle to remember what you loved so much! Scarves require patience, but they reward diligence with great beauty!

Janice

Agreed. My favorite scarf has an old locomotive on it, when it’s folded, no one knows it’s there but me, and that is enough…

Oh, I am the woman that would love the scarf with the superhero phrases! That is so fun! During Covid my family with four teenagers watched through the whole marvel superhero series and it was a blast! I would probably pull out the red, green or mustard yellow and pair with black or navy (which I mostly have).

These scarves are pretty and great as art, but I couldn’t wear any of them. I don’t wear black or brown or orange or chartreuse or…any. But I do like the way you put together wardrobes, so I still look at all the items, hoping they come in other colors.
Janice says
They’re going to do 100 scarves in total – I’m optimistic that many of us will experience whappage before they’re finished!
hugs,
Janice

Love the Aaron Potts scarf outfit. Not colours I wear myself, but so crisp, fresh, and bold. Definitely some of my fashion words.

Oh boy, that was fun! Neat combinations. I do love the brown, black and white spotty scarf. With RED edges, mmmm.

Beautiful selection of colors, I really like this entry!
