Her favorite painting…
And her easy, classic color palette:
A Weekend Trip, For Falling in Love
“If you don’t get a much better guitar, you’re not really going to progress a lot more. You’re doing so well; I’d like to see you get a really good instrument…”
“If you go into the city, I can arrange for you to go the really GOOD guitar makers, and play as many instruments as you want.”
The print tee has matching pants, a scarf, and a camp shirt…
“You’ll know when you find the right one…”
So she’s going away for the weekend, to do all of the usual visitor things – dine, sightsee, maybe a museum or two…
But mostly to play guitars, and to find one with which she falls in love!
Somewhere, in the pit of her stomach, she has giddy butterflies…
love,
Janice

This is lovely. I haven’t worn black for years (owned cats and thought I was too pale!) but wear a lot of brown. Wondering if I should revisit black, as I do wear dark navy in the summer when I have a bit of colour…

Obviously, the solution is to get a black cat. ;)

Love the art and the wardrobe. Thank you for starting my day with such beauty.

This is just beautiful. I agree with Julia, though I am phasing out black, I still have many “core” pieces I’ve not gotten rid of “just in case”. I have been adding brown over the past couple of years, so this really speaks to me. Heading back home on train today. Can you believe I almost didn’t pack ENOUGH clothes? Given I spilled on a shirt, and sat on something with pair of pants and everything was to have been worn twice. hahahahaha So one pair of pants and a shirt get extra duty. You can’t tell me anyone even notices….. Most useful item still goes to the ruana from Echo. I have four of them in various colors and always pack one when traveling. In my carry on where I can get at it. I love them. Thank you Janice for so very many things!

I am in love with the ivory pants, tank and cardigan outfit. Heat, be still!

Lol – Heart, not heat!

Oooh, me, too, Chris! That combo is so chic.

I was in “Indy?” Indianapolis for the first time this weekend. Carryon packed with black brown and denim. And painting clothes to help daughter move! I found a birthday Fierce Lynx bracelet to make transit days special. Lovely time. But easy to enjoy because packing prep so easy! SO many lessons learned. Thank you so much Janice. My Tree of Life build has made my closet finally have some structure. ❤️

Love the storyline. It is so important to play an instrument before choosing. In some ways, the instrument chooses you. Something about the feel of it in your hands, the weight, the sound will tune into your inner vibration. You will feel ‘at one’. The colour scheme for me is deathly dull though on others looks fabulous.

I wish I could wear this colour palette as it looks so classy.

Perfect start to a large wardrobe!!

Black and dark brown are my basics. I tend to feel grounded when I stay in dark colors. I’m finding that I feel most comfortable using medium brown, along with rust and deep olive, as my “light” colors. It’s a little tough in the heat of summer! Your postings are my treat at the end of the day. I’ve learned so much from you – thank you! I’ve learned so much that I’m finally comfortable getting rid of extra clothes that I don’t need. Wow! :)

Sorry, I’m late on the post. What a coincidence! I have been thinking about the combination of black, white, brown and grey from watching the movie, “Under the Tuscan Sun”. Our heroine, Frances, is wearing camel/brown with black and grey and ivory/white tops with gold, petite jewelry. And this movie was filmed in 2002 and released in 2003. Classics never go out of style.

Beautiful capsule! I don’t wear any of these colors but find this entire wardrobe classy and soothing.
