This week’s wardrobe spans linen tunics and wool blazers – May, in other words!

Are those culottes ok in warm(hot) weather? We are currently experiencing a hot spell, and even my linen pants seem a little heavy… not that this will last, but summer is coming. We do not have AC, not to mention how warm it gets in the library at work. I wasn’t quite there yet in my head, but now I find myself dragging out my summer dresses, etc… Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.

I don’t think they would suit in very hot weather – the ponte knit has some substance to it that might make them warmer than you would want. But I admit that I am really loving them so far…

way too dark for may.
Janice says
Yep, and it’s been WAY too cold, too. But I always wear dark clothes; I think it’s because I look at so many colors, so much, that I can’t choose which to wear!

Janice

Those of us who love black and white may add a bright accent color here and there, but we know what we like and feel comfortable in, in all seasons.

I miss your previous presentations that included your inspirational works of art that led to the subsequent presentation.
some of the magic of what you did has gone as a result.

This is just a bonus once weekly post of what Janice wore during the week. Her Monday, Wednesday, Friday posts contain what you are looking for!
Janice says
I will do more art, I promise! I honestly wasn’t sure if anybody was still interested, except me…
thanks for letting me know,
hugs,
Janice

I also like the posts inspired by nature.

I love the art posts. Even when I don’t like the art! and mostly I do. I’ve seen a lot of art that I otherwise would not have looked at, and I’m grateful. Thanks, Janice. Please don’t stop!
Vicki from New Zealand says
For example, I would never have seen The Arrival of the Normandy Train without you, and it has informed my whole wardrobe !!! (To borrow from Sally, this post has been sponsored by the exclamation mark.)
Janice says
I have to go back through my posts and take out about 2/3 of the exclamation marks! If I work this hard on something, it’s just logical that I’m excited about it, right?
hugs,
Janice

Another vote for the art posts. I’ve also discovered a lot of art I would never have seen – not just the ones in the posts, but the ones that they lead me to.

Yes it’s difficult to know what to wear in May. It’s still chilly in the morning but warm by the afternoon tailing off to cooler again in the evening. Long sleeves v short sleeves, corduroy or cotton or linen, jumpers or coats or no second layer.

Do you honestly find the Converse high tops comfortable for long walks? My 31yr old son used to wear them exclusively (even in leather) until his physio told him they are the worst shoe ever for a pronator. After years of wearing them my son has developed bunions which is common amongst pronators so he’s doing physio therapy to help realign the joints and avoid surgery for awhile. I have the same affliction and was awfully tempted by a fuchsia pair of Converse but stuck to my high top Remontes which have more arch support. The violet shade is gorgeous. Sigh…
Janice says
I wouldn’t want to wear them to walk miles, but for just running around the neighborhood, or in our building, I find them very comfortable. They have as much support as Jello, though…

Janice

I love the whole wardrobe but way to hot to wear in St. Louis, even now. And yeah, I’m only wearing shoes with arch support now. It sucks getting old, but probably even young people should wear good shoes and not ballerina flats, etc.
