When life gets back to normal (it WILL get back to normal, won’t it?), I will share my outfits of the days probably every Saturday.
These are known in the Internet world as OOTD’s…

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. I did not expect to see anything today. I’ve been keeping up with your outfits via Instagram. Whatever took me so long???? Happy Christmas Eve Day What would you consider your “signature color”? Or do you have one? Used to be red I believe, then pink, now purple? Does one need to have a signature color? I got so bored with all my purple. I think perhaps I went overboard on it.😂😂 Cheers!

I agree, Sheila, this was a pleasant surprise. Love looking at the outfits and color combinations. Thank you, Janet!
Happy holidays to all. Hope your families are safe and warm in this bitter cold.

Color preferences are so interesting. I can’t imagine picking just one signature color, though I have a friend who would always choose purple. My eye is more satisfied by a variety of colors, and bright or deep colors are more flattering to me.

This is excellent! Thank you!

Thank you for every outfit. They all cheer me up as I see bits of them already in my wardrobe and I realize I’m almost put together. 😄 Happy Holidays!

Every once in a while, like today, I see that strong Northwestern University streak in you! Not sure whether that’s just from living in the Chicago area or if you are actually affiliated with NU. Thank you for posting today. I love the real clothes that you post for real people. I realize now I’ve been following you for 10 years! Please keep it coming!

What a surprise to see this. I’m just wondering whether your outfits correlate to particular types of activities or whether you just put on what you fancy for the day?
Happy Christmas to everyone and stay safe (some parts of Scotland might see snow.)

Thank you for your wonderful posts. You offer ideas for beautiful style in all price ranges, with a much appreciated emphasis on the LE and LLB price points. When a splurge is in order, I revisit your magnificent wardrobes based on the painting of Sts. Genevieve and Appolonia for inspiration. Pure pleasure!
Thank you, and I hope your holidays are filled with joy.

I am so glad to see your OOTDs! After reading The Vivienne Files several years, the OOTD shows a completely different idea of what I would have expected: more casual, and (to me, a retiree) more accessible and usable. (I still love the stories and awesome ideas in the less casual wardrobes, for ideas and basically, for fashionable entertainment. )Thanks so much for sharing these. Happiest of Holidays to you and all your readers!

SOOO fun to see your style! Thank you for doing this – I will look forward to Saturdays more, now!

I agree about Saints Genevieve and Appolonia painting. Those vibrant, jewel colours are just glorious for this time of year. Whenever I see the image I dig out my decades-old Burberry check silk square and try it with a red top in the belief that it should look good. It doesn’t. It looks a mess. Perhaps too much beige near the face for my older colouring? Sad.

I wonder what the Saints painting would inspire for warm weather. I hope there might be a summer trip to Rome on her calendar!

Just to say these all look down to earth and like things I would wear to work or at home. Thank you for the behind the scenes look and I fervently hope you have mild symptoms and recover soon.

Well . . . Take care and get well soon! That is, in my opinion, priority #1! In the meantime, we can play with, appreciate, and admire the awesome posts – new & old – that we have!

What a nice surprise! I love these, and now I will have a weekend post to look forward to. I must say, I am completely jealous of you purple Converse. That’s it, I must have a pair. I think that will be my first purchase of 2023. Hopefully I can find a sale.
