A couple of warm days make it pretty difficult to layer! But jewelry is always a good option…

1/5 of the way through. Good work.
Lovely as always!
I know most of “The Vivienne Files” readers would be in an uproar ( and maybe Janice herself), but I think six of these dresses instead of the monthly six scarves would be so interesting and fun!
Oh, I second this. Or in posts about Cerise, Clementine, Skylar, Rose, and the other colorful friends?!
Jancie, you have so many delightful series!
That would be great to see- a featured dress in different colours within a capsule wardrobe to reflect 6 unique people.
I am tempted by the dresses- I am not usually a dress person but it’s good to have one for various occasions as part of a larger capsule.
I keep thinking about navy- it can do for funerals and weddings. I still don’t feel like wearing black to a wedding but navy would cover all occasions.
Love the cute squirrel brooch.
As you know we have been mourning our dearly loved Queen at her funeral yesterday. Coat dresses or plain dresses were worn by many of the ladies. Pearls and diamonds were the stones of choice in the jewellery of the female guests and Royal family. Hats – broad brimmed or beret – and headbands were common amongst the female mourners. Understated elegance was the order of the day.
I was at home with my husband and mother-in-law and watched proceedings on TV. 💔 I usually wear navy or dark purple to funerals. Yesterday, I wore a navy polka-dot tee shirt and navy chinos. My jewellery was a black jet ring and a sapphire ring that once belonged to my Grandmother.
I watched the BBC’s superb live coverage via their YT channel and honoured the Queen and her husband in Edinburgh green.
I think hair accessories (head bands, scrunchies, barrettes, etc.) would work well on hot days too.
In honor of the queen’s funeral I wore corgi socks. The media made a big deal about the pearls, but doesn’t everyone wear pearls to funerals? (I guess some funeral attire is pretty casual nowadays, but still, pearls are traditional with black dress-up attire.)
Meanwhile, I was impressed how every single person at the funeral was in black or dark navy. wonder if they would have been let in if a mourner wore something inappropriate.
