A few people are still longing for summer clothes – I’m sorry, but they’re getting to be SO hard to find in stores. As I may have mentioned in the past, I don’t like to show you anything that isn’t available in the full range of colors and sizes – why taunt you with things you can’t have if you really want them? Thus, summer clothes are becoming difficult to share…
And a LOT of retailers are only bringing into stock the bare minimum of styles and colors for cooler weather – WHAT FUN IS THAT? We’re stuck inside for most of our time, and we need cheer. Color! Brightness! Variety!
With that in mind, I’m sharing some lovely cashmere sweaters with you, along with a few other accessories to give you little accessory families…
Please note – these are NOT amazing cashmere sweaters; they aren’t going to become an instant family heirloom, and they will NOT last 50 years. Probably. But these ARE nice sweaters – soft, well-enough made, and certainly worthy of being considered as a special autumn & winter treat…
If I had blue eyes….
This color would tempt me, if only to get my hands on those socks!
I think this Heather Mineral is SO beautiful… imagine this with Winter White for the holidays… or navy, for everyday…
A few of these colors could be “test-drives” for adding a neutral to your wardrobe! Burgundy goes with pretty much everything, and flatters most women…
Oh, how I enjoy purple! It’s hard to find, but makes SO much impact. I generally don’t like skulls on my clothes, but I’d love to be sitting a meeting and cross my legs, revealing skull socks… Where WERE these things when I was a grouchy office person?
If you’ve always admired Camel, but never indulged, this might be a way to start. The scarf is perfect for bridging the camel sweater with grey, winter white, black…
Same if you’ve always had a fondness for warm green – I’d do silly things for a pair of these earrings…
Chartreuse? CHARTREUSE? To me, chartreuse is a liqueur that smells like Listerine… But it’s an amazing color, for some of us…
Which would be yours? I have to admit that – even though I’m currently riding the pink bandwagon in a BIG way – I’m tempted by Burgundy…
And if you didn’t see a color that blows back your hair, this sweater comes in 17 colors…
love,
Janice
p.s. Three years ago, a stunningly beautiful painting inspired a wardrobe with NO spending limits…

The colours of the jumper you feature are very versatile throughout the year. I hope you noted that it comes in a very fetching shade of Peppermint Pink?
However, I’m not going to look at my winter jumpers until after I come back from holiday as I’m hoping that it will still be warm, the UK is currently taking a battering from unseasonably fierce storms.
However, I have realised over the summer that I have too many fine knit cardigans and too many thicker jumpers. I find that I tend to fasten the cardigans up, so perhaps I should look again at fine knit jumpers with some interesting detail or in colours that could go all the way through Spring as well. Or if the cardigans are stretchy enough, I could prevail upon my daughter to sew up the front creating a jumper with button detail?

I would be tempted by the burgundy and camel, but I see on their website there is a “neutral” which I think will go with everything ? I’m sorely tempted…
Sharon says
Heather mineral is my favourite although the jumper is probably a bit short in the body for me as I have a long torso.
I have plenty of fine knit & chunky wool jumpers already, so not in need of anymore – I am smitten with that colour though.

Oh, that deep purple! But a pullover sweater is never going to be practical in the tropics, and I’m not very clever with scarves. So I’ll just have to translate. Pullover = lightweight top or tee. Scarf = colorful necklace.
I enjoy these color groupings so much! Thank you for a bright and happy start to the day!

Why do these companies never make cash me rein in tall sizes? ! The arms would be at least 2 inches too short! And the men’s colors are so boring!
Ivy says
Sorry, naughty atuocorrect!

There is an online company which I use called WoolOvers which has a brilliant selection of natural materials including cashmere and cashmere merino mix. I do not know how to send a link but prices are reasonable and quality great.
I have several. Both Jumpers and cardigans.

We’re in that bittersweet time between saying goodbye to the glorious days of summer and eagerly anticipating weather cold enough to wear sweaters everyday. I have enough sweaters so I won’t be purchasing any more. But…Scarves! Earrings! Face masks! These I can happily add to my wardrobe. The burgundy, olive and camel groupings are all very appealing to me, probably because they are neutrals.
I was surprised when I clicked through to the striped scarf in the camel group. I love the look of the small stripes shown in the grouping, but when I saw the actual stripes are much larger it made me hesitate. The change in scale has me questioning if I would wear it. The final verdict for me is that I prefer the smaller scale. So I will keep looking for a scarf in the appropriate colors as well as the appropriate scale. Thanks for the important lesson learned today about selecting accessories that deserve a place in my closet.

Vertical stripes along the length of the scarf tend to be narrower. Often found in the
Mens accessories department!

Today is supposed to be our 46th day of 110+ daily highs this year. By far, this is our hottest summer on record. I do NOT want to see any more summer clothes. So nice to see these sweaters and remember that cooler days are coming!

Deep moss! Be still my beating heart. Love that Franco Sarti scarf but I’ll be looking for a more economical version. Gorgeous though. The earrings in the Heather Mineral are so pretty too. They come in four colours and I’m coveting three of the four.
I’m not looking forward to fall, at all. Our warm weather season is too short as it is. I do switch over to deep moss and olive in the fall though and that time will come.

I’m on board with a look ahead to cold weather garments…sweater + scarf season is my favorite.
Heart eyes for the heather mineral grouping! The gorgeous light color, the heathering that complements my need for a “softness” to the color, that scarf that I ADORE, and the whimsical socks…this is right up my alley! If I hadn’t just purchased a very similarly colored cotton pullover, I would be giving that one a hard look.
2nd place: burgundy grouping [love the pink/burgundy scarf with it]
3rd place: moss grouping [striped socks and scarf is subtle but very pleasing]
4th place blue grouping [too bright for me, but if that grouping appeared in my closet, I would make it work! the multiple shades of blue in the scarf would help]
…And I just noticed that the “cold weather wardrobe treat” image features these 4 groupings in my preferred order, haha…Janice, you read my mind!
I’ve owned cashmere sweaters before, but currently don’t have any…I gained a bit of weight so I gave mine to my mom. Of course I do like the soft drapey quality of a cashmere sweater, but right now I’m very drawn to the look of thicker, more textured sweaters for daily work/play wear. Cashmere looks kind of “boring” to me at the moment. (Now, if just the right dark teal one were to come along, it’s a different story.) There is a good chance that after 6 months of wearing thicker sweaters this year, the pendulum will swing again and I will be interested in adding a couple cashmere sweaters because they do look and feel so very nice.

I could be tempted to jazz up my socks this year after seeing these examples.
The scarves are very distinctive and would brighten up a dull day. I noticed on the web link for the chartreuse scarf that the model was wearing the scarf draped across her front showing a lot of the pattern. Why is it that scarves are tied at the front with a bit of pattern at the back? Why not have more pattern at the front? Although guarding against it looking as if you are wearing a napkin. I used to wear scarves and shawls draped across one shoulder and pinned on the opposite one.

The heather mineral sweater looks lovely with the darker colours in the scarf.

Very bright, and yes, we do need color! Clever matching masks for each one. Heather Mineral is my favorite…those earrings!
California came to us last night in the form of wildfire smoke. Fall is almost here, and we need it. Like everything this year, summer packed a punch. I’d like to punch it back. ;)
Lyneisa says
Deep moss is my favorite of the colors you featured, but I do LOVE the burnished timber color on their website! I agree that if they had a deep teal, I would be wanting that color above all, though.
Janey says
I love that you featured face masks with each combination. I love cashmere and I am always looking for cashmere cardigans with buttons. I have an old one from Macy’s that I have nearly worn to death, holes and all but I still love it.
Deirdre says
I wish they were V-necks!
Carol Melancon says
Me, too! I would snap up one in Heather Mineral if it was available in a v-neck.
Millie says
They do have v necks, but only in four neutrals, sadly. Llbean has a few nicer colours in vneck.
NATALIE says
The bright pink is so cheerful and I need some cheer these days. I’m very high risk so we’ve been on lockdown since Feb. It’s beginning to wear on us. Won’t be wearing sweaters until end of Nov. here in Arizona. So looking forward to the cold weather to come!! It’s sooo hot here!!

So many lovely colors! And I love that you’re including face masks – our newest wardrobe accessory. Lots of cute ones in these examples!
