Why yes, I did INDEED loose track of the beginning of August… At least the rent got paid on time!
This is a banner month for flowers – poppies!!! There are LOTS of poppies in garments and jewelry, as well as “poppy” being a great color for both nail and lip colors. So if you like poppies, or a clear, vivid red, you’re in luck! Topshop has some sleepwear with poppies on them, and Dorothy Perkins has tops, pants, skirts and dresses in a poppy print. It’s a veritable treasure trove of flowers…
So what did I find?
Really LOTS of beautiful goodies this month… This brooch cries out to me… but then brooches often do!
One of the great things about any shade of red is that it can be worn – really easily – with any neutral. While I’m showing a number of accessories with each of these dresses, I’m the first to admit that you might not want to wear ALL of these at one time. Or maybe you will – if you’re happy, then that’s what counts!
Do you wear red? Or is it too bold for you?
I’m a big fan, but I must admit that it isn’t for everyone…
love,
Janice

Love this. I used to always wear reds but now my extremely pale skin tone leaves me a bit washed out. Using pops of red here and there is certainly the answer. Thank you, thank you for another great idea and inspiratiCon.

Red? YES!!! Lots of it, solid or pattern, with black, grey, or white (those are my neutrals).

I love the color red, and the brighter the better as far as I am concerned. I also love poppies, so this post is perfect. Thanks, Janice!

I love Red but it is too loud for my very pale coloring. I do have two red tops which are worn during the winter holidays: a silk blouse and a sweater. I try to find a red that is coral-like and not too bright.
However, I really like the combinations here with the red accessories, lovely!

Beautiful poppies – love them! I used to wear a lot of bright red when I was younger, but as I’ve aged my reds have become more muted and now prefer raspberry, cerise and rose shades. I quite like the idea of wearing a neutral dress with red accessories but would only wear one at a time. I would wear the drop earrings with the black dress, the pretty scarf with the grey dress and definitely those lovely red shoes with the navy dress.

No surprise – I LOVE red, and I LOVE poppies, and I’m an August baby! The red bag I just bought in Paris (wheee!) would fit in perfectly here.

I love red – probably my favourite colour – I even use it as an accessory colour in my home decor. I have noticed a lot of poppy themed jewelry in the shops so I might indulge in a pair of earrings – and I would love that poppy print scarf from Valentino – but a bit out of my price range – still, it’s nice to dream.

I love this post and I love the black merino dress from Uniqlo . . . because of course, I NEED another black dress :-)

Of course you do!

This post makes my heart sing – I love red! Further more, I’m an August baby too! Can never go wrong with a pair of bright red shoes with a ‘simple’ outfit & these shoes above are all gorgeous! Actually, today was a red day for me, blue denim, bright blue shirt, red pashmina (winter in New Zealand) & bright red shoes – I felt happy and free on a dreary and rainy day! Thank you Janice (lots of hugs)

Love red! I always seem to have at least one pair of red shoes in my closet. I had a favorite red bag once too. I favor the solid dresses with the red accessories.
