Hi Janice! I am one of your readers that followed you from Je Ne Sais Quoi days. What a lovely interview. Thank you for the link. Le sigh, as we used to say on JNSQ. ;-)
Lovely interview. You inspired me to go look at some of my favorite art again. The colors don't carry from one painting to the next, but the sense of "light" does… Wonder how to translate that!?
Is anyone else having trouble with the link? It's showing up as blocked on my work computer and unavailable on my phone (the work computer has it flagged as p*rn – eek).
Loved this interview – and really appreciated how you believe your closet should reflect how you live (today) – like putting the lovely cashmere items in a drawer and hanging your gym clothing in the closet rather than the exact opposite. Good advice !
Mega hugs! Love it, love the photo, advices, everything! Thank you for the place in my day where I can come and enjoy!!! So precious xoxo Sania from Zagreb
That was fun. Love that you are moving your gym clothes front and center. It's kind of silly to have to reach past other clothes to get to what you need every day, isn't it? It makes so much sense that as you are working to regain your health that your lifestyle (and choice of clothing) reflect that goal.
Excellent! Some good points for pondering in there and I look forward to your article on your wardrobe reorganising. I am in awe of such clarity of thought to recognise your changing priorities and reorganise your clothing to reflect them.
Nice interview! Lovely photo and I agree, you look great in black and white with that pretty scarf. I have also organized my wardrobe with the most used clothing "up front" as you say. It is even more easy to get dressed each day! I envy your dedication to the gym!! Janice Collins, Washington, DC
Janice, I loved all the context to your work.Thank you for bringing it to us. Two possible topics: Workout clothes for women of the Vivienne demographic. I wanted to upgrade from ancient t-shirt and bike shorts, and it's hard to find anything but clingy jersey tops with holes in places I don't want seen — ever. The other one: some of the nooks and crannies you've found with distinctive accessories — like ImageDiary. I'm looking for a distinctive but not flashy bracelet suitable for a grandma with the heart of a rock queen. :)
Great interview. Loved hearing the back story to Vivienne Files. Btw have you done a blog on what you learned from a year without shopping? Has it changed the way you shop now?
