Yes, our flight was cancelled yesterday, and we had tentatively planned to travel on Sunday to Paris, but…
I now have flu. Literally at 1 p.m. on Thursday I was sitting with friends, chatting and having a good time, and by 2 p.m. I was in bed under four blankets, shivering and feeling ghastly…
The ghastly continues. The trip has been canceled for now.

The view from bed – that’s Lake Shore Drive in the foreground, and that big “field” is actually Lake Michigan… And it’s still snowing! At least I have something pretty to see, right?
Happily, I have already assembled small blog posts for the time that I was supposed to be away, so I won’t have to work while I’m recuperating! Small blessings, but I’ll take them.
love,
Janice
Feel better soon! Lots of sleep and liquids!
Love your posts the most! So get well soon and take the time you need for full recovery so you can resume your especially wonderful blog . . . that I cannot wait to read every morning, whether it's a beautiful new one or whether I study an older one. If there were a Grammy for fashion and wardrobe bloggers, you would get the top "Blogger of the Year" honors!
Oh dear. How awful for you. Twice canceling a lovely trip to Paris. Stay warm, be well, drink tea. Peace.
Gah! So sorry you have the flu. But now would be a hard time to get around in Paris, what with the snow for which they lack equipment to handle. (If you will be there in May, let me know!)
Your posts this week have been hitting them out of the park — thank you, thank you for these analytical think-throughs. I'm recovering from the flu and it is slow — take things easy, but sit up often to prevent pneumonia, etc. As disappointing as it is to have to cancel Paris, I am sure you agree that it is much better to be ill at home than abroad.
Yikes! At least you weren't ON the plane when it hit. Get well soon!
so, so sorry. it is absolutely everywhere. hope you will be able to travel when you are recovered. nothing worse than being in Paris and being sick!!
Sorry to hear this but it is better to be ill at home rather than in a different country. Take care of yourself and don't try to do anything but rest.
You poor lady. Imagine if the flu had started after you'd left? Keep snug, rest, drink water and accept all the kind offers of help that I'm sure are coming your way. Hugs, x
Oh man . . . take care! Blah on the flu!
That's so disappointing! I hope that you feel better soon.
Sorry to hear about both the flu and the cancelled trip. Take care of yourself. The flu season has not been a great one.
Your littlest buddy had it this week too. The other two and I have colds but all e flu swabs were negative. Take care of yourself. Love you. Tom said, poor girl!!
Oh no as well! So disappointing for you. Please take care, get well soon.
Oh no! Get well soon.
So sorry to hear of the cancelled trip and you getting the flu. Please test and take your time recovering. Maybe Paris in the Spring! Healing hugs, Stefanie
I hope you'll get better soon.
If it is any consolation, Paris seems to be really struggling with snow and bad weather right now, so this wouldn't have been the best moment to visit.
-Sara K.-
I'm so sorry your trip is cancelled yet again. Hope you recover quickly from the flu!
Oh no, that's no fun! I'm sorry you missed your trip to Paris.
And please don't worry about your blog until you feel better. Get lots of rest, and plenty of water, tea, and chicken noodle soup!

Oh no! Here's to a speedy recovery!
Oh no! I'm so sorry! I pray you feel better soon. Take care of yourself <3. Hugs, Karen S.
Hope you feel better soon.
Healing wishes!
It may be a mercy that the flight was cancelled. Imagine how spectacularly awful it would be to feel that terrible on the plane, and then to land, only to be sick in Paris, rather than having fun. I hope you recover soon!
Oh NO! I so hope that you will not suffer too long and Paris will be there for you when you are well….perhaps a Spring in Paris will be on your radar!
Take care
Feel better, Janice! J'espère que tu te sens mieux!

Oh dang!! So sorry you're sick. But that view is awesome.
So sorry you have the flu. Take care of yourself… we will be here when you are well again.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon!
Not nice, Mother Nature. Hope you have a quick recovery.
Hope you feel better soon. Love your positive outlook – "at least I have something pretty to see…" Wishing you a speedy recovery. Cheers!
Warm non-shivery hugs Carol S

Girl, you have had a rough time trying to get to Paris lately. But it will be all the more sweeter when you finally do! Take care of yourself and praying you recover quickly. Diane
So sorry you're sick and having to postpone the trip … again! Thanks for the view of Lake Michigan. We are currently binge-watching "Shameless", so now i will imagine that you are watching out your window as Frank yells at the world from your "beach".
I am so sorry you are sick with the flu and missing out on a trip. Sending wishes for a speedy recovery your way.
So sorry to hear about your illness, believe me I sympathize as I've had it now for about 10 days – and yes, it came almost as quickly as your's did. Just been doing the usual – resting and lots of fluids. Give yourself the time to recover.
PS – found this website today – just shows you where you might find fashion & accessory pieces! Get well soon.

What a miserable alternative to Paris! I’m so sorry.
Oh, Janice. I'm so sorry that you're sick–and that you've had to cancel your Paris trip yet again! Sending all healing thoughts your way.
Dear Janice, I’m sorry you missed your trip. The flu is no joke. We’ve been through it at our house. I hope you will recuperate quickly!
Dear Janice So sorry to hear that you're ill and particularly that you've had to postpone your Paris trip yet again. I know it's a huge disappointment, however it might be a blessing in disguise as Paris has had a lot of snow (I know that won't be new for you!) and the forecast looks like it's cold and wet over the next few days. Fingers crossed that it will be third time lucky for you! Sending hugs. Sue
So very sorry you are so ill & that you are missing your Paris vacation. I'll join all your readers in sending thoughts of healing & love, especially on Valentine's day
We’ve been through it at our house. I hope you will recuperate quickly
Oh, Janice!
As one of your other fans said “Gah”. So sorry. Take care of your self.
