Yes, our flight was cancelled yesterday, and we had tentatively planned to travel on Sunday to Paris, but…
I now have flu. Literally at 1 p.m. on Thursday I was sitting with friends, chatting and having a good time, and by 2 p.m. I was in bed under four blankets, shivering and feeling ghastly…
The ghastly continues. The trip has been canceled for now.
Happily, I have already assembled small blog posts for the time that I was supposed to be away, so I won’t have to work while I’m recuperating! Small blessings, but I’ll take them.
love,
Janice

Feel better soon! Lots of sleep and liquids!

Love your posts the most! So get well soon and take the time you need for full recovery so you can resume your especially wonderful blog . . . that I cannot wait to read every morning, whether it's a beautiful new one or whether I study an older one. If there were a Grammy for fashion and wardrobe bloggers, you would get the top "Blogger of the Year" honors!
Hallie says
Oh dear. How awful for you. Twice canceling a lovely trip to Paris. Stay warm, be well, drink tea. Peace.
Duchesse says
Gah! So sorry you have the flu. But now would be a hard time to get around in Paris, what with the snow for which they lack equipment to handle. (If you will be there in May, let me know!)
Lori says
Your posts this week have been hitting them out of the park — thank you, thank you for these analytical think-throughs. I'm recovering from the flu and it is slow — take things easy, but sit up often to prevent pneumonia, etc. As disappointing as it is to have to cancel Paris, I am sure you agree that it is much better to be ill at home than abroad.
Taste of France says
Yikes! At least you weren't ON the plane when it hit. Get well soon!

so, so sorry. it is absolutely everywhere. hope you will be able to travel when you are recovered. nothing worse than being in Paris and being sick!!

Sorry to hear this but it is better to be ill at home rather than in a different country. Take care of yourself and don't try to do anything but rest.
The Pouting Pensioner says
You poor lady. Imagine if the flu had started after you'd left? Keep snug, rest, drink water and accept all the kind offers of help that I'm sure are coming your way. Hugs, x

I hope you'll get better soon.
If it is any consolation, Paris seems to be really struggling with snow and bad weather right now, so this wouldn't have been the best moment to visit.

It may be a mercy that the flight was cancelled. Imagine how spectacularly awful it would be to feel that terrible on the plane, and then to land, only to be sick in Paris, rather than having fun. I hope you recover soon!

Oh NO! I so hope that you will not suffer too long and Paris will be there for you when you are well….perhaps a Spring in Paris will be on your radar!

So sorry you're sick and having to postpone the trip … again! Thanks for the view of Lake Michigan. We are currently binge-watching "Shameless", so now i will imagine that you are watching out your window as Frank yells at the world from your "beach".

So sorry to hear about your illness, believe me I sympathize as I've had it now for about 10 days – and yes, it came almost as quickly as your's did. Just been doing the usual – resting and lots of fluids. Give yourself the time to recover.
PS – found this website today – just shows you where you might find fashion & accessory pieces! Get well soon.

Dear Janice So sorry to hear that you're ill and particularly that you've had to postpone your Paris trip yet again. I know it's a huge disappointment, however it might be a blessing in disguise as Paris has had a lot of snow (I know that won't be new for you!) and the forecast looks like it's cold and wet over the next few days. Fingers crossed that it will be third time lucky for you! Sending hugs. Sue
