I love this painting… What a wealth of details, and vivid colors – plus being carried across the sea by angels sounds like a most privileged (and hard-earned) way to travel!
The range of accent color possibilities here is pretty vast, but I narrowed us down to just four:
She Really IS In Charge…
Although you might find her sitting on the floor, happily coloring with a group of 4-year-olds…
Yep, she runs that HUGE day care facility. Inspections, regulations, paper work and MORE paper work…
If she’s going to have time for the fun stuff, she’s got to be meticulously organized:
Because she’s ALL about the fun, especially when there are little children involved!
Happily, it’s all fun for her – changing diapers, cleaning up behind messy toddlers – she enjoys it all, because it’s all part of taking care of her most beloved charges.
She’s not opposed to getting into the sandbox, if the situation requires…
She’ll even lay down for a nap, if it’s a good way to get a group settled. After all, there’s chocolate milk when you get up!
She’ll never get rich doing this, but she considers herself to already BE rich – she gets paid in hugs from tiny, sticky arms wrapped tightly around her neck! (or her legs, or whatever part of her they can reach – they’re very indiscriminate with their affections…)
love,
Janice

This capsule shows a lot of cohesion and flexibility. For me, I'd cool down the green to a slate green and then I'd have a perfect blend of my colors.

My sis was a kindergarten teacher for 30 years. Everything in her daily wardrobe had to be: extremely washable (all those sticky fingers) and easy to bend down or sit on the ground. I think she'd like this capsule. Luckily for her, by that age, everyone is toilet trained (mostly, accidents happen).

Janice,
I was thinking how perfect those multicolored pants would be for little sticky fingers ! I am out of state, as of this post, and I used the denim, beige, plus brown, format for my packed neutrals , adding red and teal as accent colors. Thanks for the inspiration !

It's been really fun to see the basic wardrobe rounded out in different ways for different color ways.

I'd love to see an out-of-the-sandbox glam wardrobe inspired by this painting's sumptuously gilded and flowing patterns…

Sometime when I'm in the mood to completely abandon reality and just indulge in some gorgeous garments (maybe when the fall things come back?) I'm going to do just that; this painting deserves to be revisited!

Yes! This painting can be interpreted sartorially in so many ways! I love this capsule, though, and your heroine sounds like a lovely, warm person. – nancyo

I look forward to the reality-abandoned, flying-over-the-sea, gorgeous version, Janice!

That painting is beautiful! Another charming heroine too! This denim and khaki study has been very versatile! Lots of options! Thank you Janice!
