Soft green – not bright, not acid, not kelly. It’s a hard color to describe but you know it when you see it! And remember, because your accessories are made of all sorts of different materials, they don’t have to be “dye-lot” matched.
I like the looks of this – the change of cardigan really shifts the feel of these capsules, doesn’t it?
The green brings a fresh, but gentle, feeling to this grouping.
Have a lovely weekend,
love,
Janice

This is a very fresh, elusive colour. It just quietly speaks of streams, meadows and relaxation.

I love this series! It is interesting how changing a cardigan and a few accessories breathes life into neutral basics. These are very wearable wardrobes!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! I discovered it right before my trip to France 2 weeks ago and it changed the way I shopped and packed for my trip! Thank you for your hard work putting these posts together! I'm going to clean out my closet this summer and finally have a plan for looking stylish over 60!

That green is just right – not too sharp, not too flat. It looks especially harmonious and fresh in this set.
Well done, you! (as always)

Janice, you are so wonderful at presenting combinations that I would not have imagined. I'm wearing my beige skirt and navy sweater today but next time I will wear pair them with my soft green scarf and my chalcedony earrings.

My favourite so far, as others have said, it's so fresh. You have completely convinced me that a navy/beige core is the best way to go for me. A few additions can give completely different looks, not just the colour but the whole mood changes. Many thanks for this series. Some 'extreme' ones might be fun, e.g. arty, cocktail party, rock festival – I don't do these, but its such fun to dream and play around with the basic concept.

I love that green Janice, and to me it is a soft blue-green, like seaglass. It also reminds me of how copper oxidises, that gorgeous green colour (verdigris).

Can someone please wave a magic wand and make this whole set appear in my closet? It is perfection!

Just discovered your blogs and love them. Have started a capsule wardrobe based on your suggestions. These cool-warm scales have me confused. The beautiful green sweater is shown both cool and warm. Or is that the whole outfit? Please help.
Janice says
That’s the overall outfit – for example, a beige top and pants with that green cardigan is going to be predominantly warm, even though the cardigan can swing both way… A perfect green – that’s exactly between yellow and blue – would be neither (or both?) warm nor cool. It’s confusing, isn’t it? What I was trying to show here was that you could mix both warm and cool colored clothes in a wardrobe without things going awry. So much advice seems to insist that you can only wear cool or warm, and I think that this idea is TOO strict….
Thanks for your question!
